House of iKons evening show

Date:

House of iKons AW16 was a real show to remember

Well into it’s second year, though not that you would know it, House of iKons has every inch the presence, prestige and overwhelming show of a company that has been around for decades.

Savita Kaye, CEO, is finding undiscovered designers (whom she calls her uncut diamonds) and is presenting them for the world to see. And they do not disappoint. For there is no sense of disorganisation, no sense of being ‘new’. Each step of the show is created with such precision, such attention to detail and with such care that you feel connected with every piece that is walked down the runway.

House of iKons evening

This season, House of iKons returned to the Hilton Paddington for an evening of grandeur, glitz and talent. Behind all the razzle dazzle however, there was a much deeper cause; for the show was in aid of the Prince’s Trust, raising money for those who are disadvantaged and helping them into work.

The show began with a short clip from the Prince’s Trust and explaining where the raised money will go to, before presenters Cinde Rella and Clayton Black took to the catwalk. Savita, wearing a fabulous piece from Yen then spoke to the crowd before the first designer – Kelly & Co. was introduced.

With her exquisite carnivalesque designs, Kelly & Co. had the crowd enthralled and eager for each and every piece that was walked down the runway. From intricate tribal and feathered dresses to truly breathtaking headdresses her pieces are unique and truly set the bar high for the rest of the show. Karen Gold was next up and her velvet inspired pieces a real aesthetic treat.
Third up was Rocky Gathercole, an esteemed and celebrated designer who has dressed many red carpet celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Katy Perry. His designs are elegant, glamorous and flattering – figure hugging pieces that simply fall over the body, embellishments and tassels adding a touch of personality.

Kassi Kandolo offered an insight into the warmer months to come, with her tribal inspired swimwear, the bright colours, patterns styles making us dream of the summer. You can see a shoot we did with Kassi here.

To close House of iKons 2016 was Happy Andrada with a stunning wedding wear collection. The breathtaking use of pattterns and textures was a real highlight and it was a truly stunning way to close the show.

House of iKons is not just a fashion show, it is so much more than that. From the moment you enter the venue you are encapsulated in all that is wonderful about fashion and you know just why it is a multi billion pound industry.
Savita Kaye is a real inspiration both to the fashion and the business world and is a name that is not going anywhere.
