Seen in the City is doing Tough Mudder…

Date:

Tough Mudder- because who doesn’t like a challenge?

For anyone who knows me, I love a challenge. A chance to prove myself and do something a little out of the ordinary. This year, I have decided to take on my challenge in the form of Tough Mudder.

Tough MudderIf you are yet to hear of this event which is simultaneously gruelling, tough and invigorating and what the website calls “probably the toughest event on the planet.” it’s about time you did.

As the name sake suggests, this obstacle course is combined of one main element – mud. 50,000 litres of the stuff. And it’s also tough. If past reviews are anything to go by, it is infact very tough. (But worth it in the end.) It is a 10-12 mile obstacle course which is designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina and mental grit. And the best bit? It is not about how fast you can cross the finish line, but a challenge which emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie and accomplishing something as tough as you are. This is a course where you have to work together in order to survive the tasks and challenges set before you.

Tough Mudder

Obstacles include:
Arctic enema: This involves you plunging into 10 tonnes of ice from a high speed entry slide, taking a workout ‘cool down’ to a whole new level.
The Liberator: This is a near-vertical 12′ wall filled with holes. You’re armed with a pair of wooden pegs of which to climb with – choose the wrong hole and you could be sent sliding back down to the bottom!
Funky Monkey: This starts with a pair of monkey bars (childhood reminiscent and perhaps not to hard) these then angle upward to meet a trapeze, which, if you can keep your momentum, will send you swinging into an iron pipe descent. If you lose your nerve you’ll drop 6ft to take the swim of shame!
This is just a tiny taster of some of the obstacles – a full list can be found here.Tough MudderSpaces are fast selling out for Tough Mudder, find out more information and book your ticket here
