PREVIEW: Topshop Boutique Autumn Winter 2016

Date:

The highly anticipated AW16 Boutique collection finally has a ‘drop’ date and it’s one we can’t wait for.

The 31st of this month sees the High Street giant reveal a whole host of Autumn Winter wares for their Boutique range  – the sister to their Unique mainline collection. Sleek and smooth with lashings of luxe prints and premium fabrics, this collection is slightly pricier than the normal Topshop range, but worth it too. Polished tailored items married with minimalist items such as sleek slip dresses and mid-length skirts make for a collection well worth the wait.

Layering is key within this range and with beautifully emphasised polo necks and the ever-classic crew-neck tee, possibilities are endless. Notch lapel collars alongside v-neck dresses make for androgynous key pieces and that bit of extra coverage in the cooler months. And with slouchy knits, wide-length trousers and striking bell sleeves, there is versatility, class and the right mix of practicality and style interwoven right through the collection.

In terms of colour palette, lilacs, soft beiges, striking blacks and sparkly midnight hues are all smattered throughout, proving invaluable for the party and events season. Particular highlights include a sheer-polka dot fabric which appears a couple of times and also a statement skirt with a striking waist belt.

This collection is really all about the tailoring and the cuts, and cut-out shoulders, wide backs and leg-splits feature heavily with a large number of the pieces. It is unique, exciting and yet unequivocally classic, sticking true to the Topshop Boutique we know and love.

Our favourite pick? It’s a tough choice and we’ll be hard pressed to pick just one once the impending cooler season hits. It has to be the polka-dot semi sheer polo-neck. Chic, beautiful and that little bit different, this is a top that is versatile yet in no way dull and something we can’t wait to add to our collection.
