Bom Sucesso Óbidos Hotel Review

Date:

Visit Bom Sucesso for a slice of Portugese Paradise

Bom Sucesso
Bom Sucesso is not so much of a hotel but more of an experience. Their private luxury villas are more like a house than an actual room. It’s a resort known for it’s golf course and it oozes luxury from every pore. Although it’s extremely private and secluded it’s a five minute drive (or bike ride if you prefer) from Lagoa de Obidos o Covão dos Musaranhos a gorgeous lagoon nearby and of course, the historical town of Óbidos, so there’s still plenty to do if you don’t play golf.

Now in regards to the accommodation each one of the villas is secluded and boasts stunning views of the course and the lush vegetation outside. Inside each villa (which spans over two floors) you have a kitchen, lounge area complete with two cosy sofas and a working fireplace. (Not that you need it because the rooms are all fitted with heating adding to the cosy vibe of these accommodations). In our case we were greeted with a personalised note welcoming us and a bottle of red wine and cheese. Additionally, there are two bathrooms one upstairs and downstairs and there is a convenient area with two wardrobes and storage space which joins the en suite to the bedroom itself. The master bedroom consists of a king size double four poster bed next to a floor to ceiling window which looks out onto your private patio. (There’s one upstairs for you as well in case that wasn’t enough!) Everything has modern furnishings and is topped off with marble floors and a muted colour palette. However, it goes without saying that the wash of light that enters the room as soon as you lift the electric blind is phenomenal. One of the highlights of the trip was being able to wake up with the sun drenching your face with simply the touch of a button – pure bliss. Regarding facilities you have everything you want plus more, television (again upstairs and downstairs) and surround sound entertainment system.

Bom Sucesso
Although difficult to leave this slice of heaven, lunch at the clubhouse had to be done. The clubhouse offers multiple rooms inside and out and being able to lunch on the outside terrace overlooking the magnificent golf course was brilliant. Portugal is a country renowned for its fish and seafood therefore these were the stars of the menu. There were fresh prawns to start, followed by perfectly cooked salmon and Mediterranean vegetables, a real authentic taste of the ocean. Then followed with a traditional sweet Portuguese desert Serradura which was sweet and heady and the perfect way to round off the meal. The breakfast at the clubhouse the next morning was great as well, a lot of options, stunning panoramic views and staff who were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything that we needed.

Bom Sucesso
Bom Sucesso Resort offers a different experience from any place I have ever stayed in and the only unfortunate thing about our stay was having to check out at the end. Hands down one of the most beautiful resorts you will ever visit regardless of whether or not you like golf, which if you do is an added bonus.
