Barry M- High Street alternative to Gel Nails

Gel nails have been a large trend for a while now, however they are simply not quite feasible for everyone. And this is where Barry M comes in. Forget expensive salon trips or purchasing a UV lamp for their new Daylight Curing Polish gives you the look and resilience of pro salon gel nails without the hassle or the  price tag…

Barry M Daylight Curing Nail polish

The Autumn/Winter collection includes four brand new colours for their Sunset Daylight Curing Collection- Plum on baby light my fire, Vengeance is wine, Dark Side of the Shroom and Do You Pink I’m Sexy. The colours are perfect for autumn/winter, the three darker shades parred with the slightly anomalous pink meaning you can dress up your look for any occasion. Whilst the pink is a bit different, it works, adding a bit of brightness to the collection, and looks great when mixed with one of the darker shades.

My personal favourite is the Barry M Vengeance in Wine- this shade great with an LBD, for a Halloween party, Christmas, New Year or with your favourite winter jumper.

Application for the nail varnish took two coats of the colour and then I finished with a top coat on top to ensure my nails look shiny and are kept protected. I didn’t get a chip on my nails until five days in, which, considering the nail bashing my poor talons get with the amount of computer typing I do, was quite a feat!

Despite the good application of the polish, removal was easy- using just a standard nail polish remover, and there were no ugly stains to the nail.

Overall 8/10.

The light pink took about four coats to really get a good colour hint but the darker shades are well worth it.

Priced at £4.99 they can be purchased  here
