Of course, Charleston is renowned for its seafood and traditional southern fare, however there is such an array of cuisines on offer you’ll never be far from something ridiculously tasty. Whether you’re looking for fine dining or just a quick bite you’ll not be disappointed.

Charleston boasts a culinary scene that caters to every taste and budget, with a diverse array of dining options sure to delight even the most discerning palates. At the top of the list is Husk, a high-end restaurant renowned for its innovative take on Southern cuisine, where Chef Sean Brock showcases the region’s bounty in dishes like skillet cornbread and fried chicken skins.

For a taste of the Lowcountry’s seafood, head to The Ordinary, an upscale oyster bar and seafood hall where raw oysters, ceviche, and seafood towers steal the show. For those seeking a more casual dining experience, Leon’s Fine Poultry & Oysters offers a laid-back atmosphere and mouthwatering fried chicken and oysters, perfect for a quick bite or leisurely meal. We also recommend a trip to FIG (Food is Good) for seasonal menus with fresh, local produce. Once a humble, corner bistro it’s now one of the top places to eat in the Southeast.

Finally, no visit to Charleston would be complete without a stop at Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit, a beloved local bakery serving up warm, flaky melt in-the-mouth biscuits (American style scone) in a variety of sweet and savoury flavours. Whether indulging in haute cuisine or grabbing a quick bite on the go, these favoured five barely scratch the surface of the delicious dishes you can come across in Charleston.
