Belstaff SS16 Show Review

Focusing on ‘Beauty of Power’ Belstaff SS16 collection is strong, powerful and undeniably beautiful…

This Luxury British brand Belstaff dominated the show-space at The Hellenic Centre yesterday, with dreamy blue projections, live classical music and most importantly, breathtakingly beautiful models adorned in Belstaff SS16 collection.
Metallic silvers, pastel pinks, beiges, whites and stripes were at the forefront of the garments. The models stood amidst piles of sand, hinting towards Belstaff’s inspiration of the coast and the sea.Belstaff SS16 Belstaff SS16 Belstaff SS16Unlike in past Belstaff collections where the looks felt heavier, the looks were as light and airy as the soft piano music filling the air. Following the ongoing trend for the upcoming season, the outfits were loosely structured – waterfall skirts, tapered trousers and open trench coats giving off a subtle military-esque feel.

Although the tailoring of the garments hinted towards more androgyny, the ‘light-as-air’ fabrics and the laser cut intricacies gave it the ultimate feminine feel.

Hi I'm Emma and I'm a fashion design student at the University of Brighton. I've loved fashion for as long as I can remember, so being part of this team and writing articles about what I love is amazing. When I'm not immersed in fashion however, I'll hopefully be on a Californian beach visiting my long distance boyfriend!
