Review: London House Restaurant Battersea Square

There are many great restaurant in London, but nothing really gets as good as the all-round whisk of your feet experience of the Gordon Ramsay Group Restaurants.

Down the quaint and pretty lane that is Battersea Square stands a regal yet inviting restaurant and cocktail bar: London House, serving up a storm of bold and tantalising flavours with simple yet effective finesse, making the dining experience that of haute cuisine to taste in a relaxed and laid back setting.

The Re-launch of this individual of the Ramsay Restaurants has restyled the experience from what was a more formal and fine dining setting, to that of a laid back, sociable environment and gregarious atmosphere, whilst retaining the Ramsay standards of consistently delivering exceptional food and drinks.

The cocktails and my particular flavour favourite was the Daiquiri, divinely sweet and delectable, like nectar in a glass. The Bar is very sexy and brass-like with excellent mixologists shaking up perfectly balanced cocktails: definitely a watering-hole worth sampling.

Moving through to the wine was a breeze, commencing with a lavish bubbly Prosecco. The white- to complement the starter – had a great smoothness and evenness to the body of the grapes with syrupy subtlety. The red  complimented the pallet of the wine collection, a really easy drinking full flavour to compliment the umami of the blue roasted lamb fillets. The wine really was simply divine.

It is of course Ramsay etiquette to season his dishes to absolute perfection and for me that was so true of the Poached Duck Egg starter with wye asparagus and kale pesto. The culinary expertise of the Kitchen performed great exactitude to executing such an excellent dish with no frills or excessively theatrical flavour on which to hang its merit, only pure and simple excellent flavour and texture combinations.

The main course was meltingly beautiful, rare Roast Lamb cooked to perfection, calcot onion puree and artichoke with smooth and warming gravy. I really need say no more, it was a dish constructed to reach the realm of the sublime using a traditional style and outdoing and exceeding expectations of a great Roast and making it a refined and delicate dish formed out of a three ingredient medley.

Dessert  was custard filled doughnuts with a rhubarb compote, and you will probably take no convincing when I say that it was the best way to delight in a rhubarb and custard indulgence. Coated in cinammon and sugar and filled with vanilla custard on a bed of sharp and tangy Rhubarb compote was simply delicious. I simply couldn’t get enough.

The meal was exceptionally served by a brilliant waiter team, one worth particular mention with the discernible culinary expertise associated with a French accent: food tastes that bit better when delivered to you with a Français stamp of approval, it is a defining factor that delivers ones dining experience to that of haute cuisine!

There was also room for a quaint and fantastical outside terrace excellently suited for a day time lounge with a coffee out in the fresh air but also protected by the utopic decorative foliage of ivy and vines surrounding you. At night there is also a warm lighting arrangement making a truly romantic setting to relax and get lost in.

The Lounge area is fabulous as it cradles you in posh plush cushioned sofas it really sets you into the scene like friends in familiar surroundings. The mood lighting was the perfect warm hue and dimmed to the perfect degree to enable some privation. The setting really allows you to feel at home, the staff will grant you every wish and you need only sit back and relax and be enchanted in your own little home within London House.

London House Restaurant

An amazingly well-rounded space which told a story of the freedom of dining style available in London House: a Restaurant that can accommodate and welcome all and deliver impeccable quality food and drink in comfort as well as style. Regal Food in Regal setting begets a regal reception; however it is an experience that needs not be exclusive to a fine dining etiquette but one that has come to enjoy the food their way.

He makes deliciously tasty food look and feel easy, with paired back ingredients truly making beautiful cuisine with that attention to detail, cooking genius, knowledge, and keen uncomplicated signature, making powerfully gorgeous flavours simply but astoundingly effectively.
