Chocolate and love interview

Chocolate and Love – for could there be a better pairing?

There’s chocolate, and then there’s chocolate. The melt in your mouth, sumptuous kind. The kind you can save for a night in alone and devour almost devilishly so, rolling the flavours round on your tongue and savouring each and every bite. And such chocolate comes in the form of ‘Love and Chocolate.’ The brand is named aptly so, for their mouthwatering creations offer the effervescent satisfaction of a food-comatic love affair.

The aesthetically alluring and somewhat eye-catching packaging gives a sly glimpse into the exciting concoction of flavours beneath. No false beliefs lure you to the product, for even once you have deftly unwrapped your chocolate you are left with a product made from such a myriad of fine-quality ingredients it feels almost wrong to eat it. Although almost is the operative word.Chocolate and Love

This chocolate is smooth and delicate yet with a bite. It is no delicate one-taste-and-its-forgotten treat, this is something to savour, to enjoy and to cherish and something you won’t forget in a while.

The collection uses exceptional quality, organic and Fairtrade ingredients including cacao sourced directly from Peru, The Dominican Republic and Panama, cane sugar from Paraguay and Costa Rica, and bourbon vanilla from Madagascar to create seven mouth-watering luxurious variants. These are:

Panama – Single origin – Cocoa from Panama (80%)
Rich Dark – Cocoa from Peru and The Dominican Republic (71%)
Mint – Dark chocolate with peppermint crunch – Cocoa from Peru and The Dominican Republic (67%)
Orange – Dark chocolate with orange – Cocoa from Peru and The Dominican Republic (65%)
Coffee – Dark chocolate with Arabica coffee – Cocoa from Peru and The Dominican Republic (55%)
Dark chocolate with caramel and sea salt – Cocoa from Peru and The Dominican Republic (55%)
Creamy dark chocolate with cacao nibs – Cocoa from Peru and The Dominican Republic (55%)

Chocolate and Love has an impressive fifteen awards under their belt and are proud to be one of the few organic chocolate producers who have won a Great Taste Aware for every single chocolate within the range.

Chocolate and Love

The brand was founded by couple Richard O’Connor and Birgitte Hovmand in 2010. Leaving behind corporate jobs as a surveyor and lawyer respectively, the couple followed their passion for chocolate and desire to develop a brand they could feel good about. Six years later they are proud to currently have the range stocked across 35 countries worldwide.
