Sol is an area located in the heart of the city, and is where you can find high street style stores. The historic plaza is constantly full of life, and there is always some form of street entertainment taking place. Sol is the perfect place to spend an afternoon dipping in and out of  shops and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.

In Madrid, you’ll never be short of things to do. The city boasts an abundance of stunning cathedrals, museums and galleries which are all really easily accessible during non-tourist seasons.

The Royal Palace of Madrid

Opened in 1755, the Royal Palace of Madrid is the official residence of the Spanish royal family. You’ll undoubtedly be blown away by the breathtaking architecture, and the incredible history surrounding the palace and its grounds. The palace is accessible for tourists as well, which is a perfect way to spend a romantic afternoon this Valentine’s Day.

After you’ve toured the palace, make sure that you take a romantic stroll through the gardens. The way the palace looks from the garden is well worth the visit, and you can also see the silhouette of mountains in the distance.

Retiro Park

If you’re coming to Madrid for Valentine’s Day, a trip to Retiro Park is a must. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and retreat to natural surroundings for a romantic stroll. Sit back on one of the many park benches and soak in the sounds, smells and sights of this gorgeous green space. Retiro Park is exceptionally scenic all year round.

Palacio De Cristal

Make sure you take a trip to Madrid’s Crystal Palace, a stunning glass pavilion constructed in 1887. The palace oozes romance, and is just simply beautiful. The palace is a renowned architectural landmark across Spain, because of its sheer elegance. Located in the heart of Retiro park, you’ll find it hard to miss!

Madrid is an overwhelmingly beautiful city, with its charming locals and exquisite delicacies, you’ll find it a challenge not to fall in love.
