2018 celebrates 100 years since the Representation of the People Act was passed, granting some women over 30 in the UK the right to vote for the first time. While a century has passed, there is still a way to go for equal rights, but we are heading in the right direction. About Tomorrow Festival

In the run-up to International Women’s Day 2018, a brand new festival is launching – About Tomorrow. This is a business-focused festival of female empowerment which will feature a specially curated line-up of 10 thought-provoking events to support, encourage, connect and inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs in the UK. Expect a star-studded line up including Ella Mills (Deliciously Ella),  Pippa Murray (Pip and Nut), Rhiannon Lambert, Alice Liveing and Olivia Wollenberg.

WOW: Women of the World Festival 2018

WOW- Women of the World Festival is a celebration of women and girls, taking a look at the obstacles that stop them from achieving their potential. It is a global network of festivals which provide a platform for celebrating what has been achieved and exploring the ways we can change the world for better. From the 7-11 March 2018, you can attend a whole host of talks, debates, concerts, performances, art installations, workshops and more.

Women and the Hall at the Royal Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall is one of the city’s most iconic venue and to commemorate the 100th anniversary of women’s votes, they are hosting an all-female series of performances, talks and films. During your visit be sure to look at the in-house photography archives with the Women and the Hall: Past, Present and Future exhibition. Women and the Hall will be running from 25 January – 26 April 2018.

Votes for Women at the Museum of London

View the Museum of London’s special film and exhibition dedicated to lesser-known Suffrage stories and striking new display of iconic Suffragette items in the Votes for Women exhibition, which includes Emmeline Pankhurst’s hunger strike medal, Louise Eates pendant and more. 2 Feb 2018-6 Jan 2019.

Phenomenal Woman Tea Party

An annual event by The Smileers, The Phenomenal Woman Tea Party is an event to celebrate women from every walk of life and creating a space for women to celebrate themselves. Happening on Sunday the 3rd of March, there will be a host of delicious afternoon tea treats and talks from women who have overcome big challenges in their quest to fulfil their dreams. There is also a goodie bag for everyone who comes along. Dress code – tea dresses! A great fun idea for Women’s History Month events.
