The Platform is the brainchild of Scottish restaurateurs, and Mac & Wild co-founders, Andy Waugh and Calum Mackinnon along with Edward Alun-Jones, the hospitality technology entrepreneur behind Top City Bites and Orderu, the digital ordering system. The founding trio have been joined by a passionate team  from the restaurant and wider food and drink industry. Each founding member of Restaurant Kits, is dedicated to making sure that the new ‘at home’, DIY restaurant kit category not only works for the consumer, but as a financially and operationally stable new opportunity for restaurants. The team is dedicated to making ‘best in class’ cuisine, once largely only available in the UKs food hubs, accessible to all in a wonderfully new, fun and interactive way.

Restaurant Kit’s founding partners include:

Restaurant Kits and Mac & Wild co-founder, Calum Mackinnon, comments, “We see the restaurant Kits solution  working for restaurants and diners for the long term, not only to support our partners through a tricky time, but as the infrastructure to endure long after. By offering the 2 options, we hope to be able to support any restaurant with a great at home kit , looking to share and scale that new element of their business. For some, the logistics of posting and fulfilling may not be an issue and that’s cool – they can still benefit from the centralised voice and leverage of the platform. But for many, we’re finding they need the end-to-end solution to make this a sustainable option for them. They can get back to focussing their efforts on getting things running in their physical restaurants and ensuring the safety and welfare of their staff. Either way, we’re in uncharted territories all round right now and Restaurant Kits is pulling us all together to help scale awareness and access of this awesome new sector of F&B together. We’re remaining open and nimble to what our fellow restaurateurs need whilst doing a lot of customer listening to make sure we serve people as best we can.”

Alongside Restaurant kits food offering is a list of drinks covering both RTD format and to be mixed at home. The drinks list includes the Infinity Bottle, a whisky blending kit which features a bottle, funnel, measure, blending guide, wax, tear strip, tag and expert tips, and The Cocktail Mini Bar which has been created in collaboration with Mac & Wild and Haig Club.
