HD brows and LVL lift – a winning combo at YOUNG LDN

We headed to Young Ldn to let them work their magic on our brows and lashes. Here is our review and what you can expect yourself…

After almost 18 months of neglecting my eyebrows and foregoing mascara I wanted one thing this summer – someone to take care of my abandoned brows and add sparkle to my eyes.

With that in mind, I headed out to the fabulous Young LDN in Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill. My eyes were fixed on two treatments listed on their lash and brow treatment menu: LVL lash lift (£85 for a 60 minute treatment) where my own lashes would be straightened, lifted and tinted  and HD brows (£50 for a 50 minute treatment) that would shape and fill my brows with a custom-blended formula of colour and finished with make up. Fab! I couldn’t wait to get started. A thing to note is that both these treatments require patch tests at least 24 hours in advance.

I arrived for the first treatment and was greeted with broad smiles, my temperature was checked and I was encouraged to use the hand sanitiser provided at the entrance. A mask is also required inside the salon. After the formalities, a cup of relaxing chamomile tea and chocolates my therapist led the way downstairs. The salon is set on two floors. The ground floor is home to the bright and lively Beauty Lounge where all nail, facial and make up treatments are carried out. It’s open, bright and buzzy. Downstairs, there are quiet, private therapy rooms for advanced treatments.

As my first treatment was the LVL lash lift my therapist led the way to a private room where she took me through the products that would be used, the different stages of the treatment and how long each step would take. All of it lent to a smooth and relaxing treatment which included a hand massage half way through as we waited for the lashes to set. 60 minutes later I simply woke up (I wasn’t asleep, just very relaxed) to lifted lashes which opened up my eyes and gave them the long-lost sparkle back. The difference was subtle but effective. It is recommended that you do not wet your lashes for 24 hours after treatment and the lash lift is expected to last four to six weeks.

Young LDN

I returned to Young LDN the following week for HD brows. The experience, which this time was on the ground floor, was once again an informative and relaxing one. The therapist talked me through the products and stages of the treatment and we discussed colours and shades before starting the treatment. My unruly brows were plucked and tamed. The colour which was applied suited my brown skin tone perfectly. The overall effect was that my brows matched each other in length, shape and colour – something that had eluded me for many months. The natural arch of my brows had been restored and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. Together with my lifted lashes I felt ready for the world. Since then, I have applied mascara with glee on evenings out and maintained my brows with my own make up and it’s been a joy to see my old self back in the mirror.

Three weeks later, my lashes are still naturally lifted and look beautiful with my perfectly groomed brows. On a final note, the service at Young LDN was impeccable and the staff friendly, informed and relaxed – all of which makes a big difference when choosing a salon. Thank you Young LDN!
