You’re Invited! To a free street party next week with the Drummond Streatery Project…

Following its launch last month, The Drummond Streatery project, a collaborative effort between Euston Town BID, Drummond Street traders, Jan Kattein Architects and Camden Council, is thrilled to invite all corners of London to its summer street party, Thursday 5th August, from 6:30-9:30pm.

Drummond Streatery

Just a stone throw from Euston Square Station, the Drummond Streatery Summer Street party is set to be a great way to spend your Thursday evening. The road will be shut to traffic allowing guests to safely make the most from the experience, celebrating the revival of one of the city’s oldest food hubs.

Alongside food from the rich and culturally diverse businesses spanning from South Asian to Turkish, partiers will be able to celebrate and dance, with a music set from internationally renowned DJ and BBC Asian Network presenter, AJD, rising contemporary crossover artist RIKA and Bhangra star H Dhami. Henna artists will be on site to adorn guests, there will be Bollywood dancers from Bollywood Co and of course, exceptional food from the street’s famous traders.

What is the Drummon Streatery?

The Drummond Streatery launched last month to welcome in the London summer for a season of outdoor eating and rediscovery of some of London’s best independent and family-run authentic restaurants, including many of the capital’s oldest South Asian restaurants.

As well as full menus at all participating restaurants, including world-famous vegetarian food at Ravi Shankar and legendary nihari at Raavi Kebab, launching in time for the Drummond Streatery Street Party is the Drummond Street Taster menu with every restaurant offering their star dish as a £5 special.  Drummond Street taster dishes include:  from Gupta’s – snack plate of samosas, vegetable cutlets and pakoras; Diwana – mini deluxe dosas and Raavi Kebab – Mini mince kebab, mutton tikka and chicken tikka with tandoori naan.

Set to be an evening to remember celebrating a resilient community of businesses that have survived years of disruption from local construction, the party marks a new summer of fun for Drummond Street: a place characteristic of London’s true diversity and range and a taste of so much of the world all on one road.

Georgie Street, a representative from Euston Town working on the project said, “Despite the challenges Drummond Street has faced, this group of traders remain dedicated to their passion. We are thrilled that they are able to serve local communities again, with the added festival-esque street furniture that shows this street is starting a new and very exciting chapter.”
