Three City Break Ideas For 2022

Date:

For many of us, 2022 will be the year of travel. The coronavirus pandemic left us locked up in our homes, often unable to leave our street, nevermind the country. So, now that restrictions are easing and many of us are finding ways to live with coronavirus through immunity and vaccination, many of us are considering some big getaways to make up for lost time and give us that sense of freedom that was withheld for so long. Now, there are a huge number of different holidays you could take into consideration, but if you’re looking for culture, major sights, good food and drink and more, why not consider a city break? There are a huge number of cities out there to choose from, so here are some of the most popular to consider.

Three City Break Ideas For 2022

Paris

Hitting the highest number of visitors each year, Paris is one of the most popular city breaks to take into consideration. This major city has a huge number of sights, cultural attractions, art galleries and so much more to view. So, take a look online and see if it could meet your needs! Bear in mind that France does have relatively strict travel restrictions still in place, so you will likely need to be vaccinated or do a PCR test in order to cross its borders. When you arrive in Paris, you can generally get from your chosen airport into central Paris using a taxi or the public transport system. Public transport throughout the city is extremely affordable in comparison to other major cities and the system of metros, trains and buses can get you from A to B, whatever you wish to see. Add sights like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Musee d’Orsay to yoru itinerary. Plus, experience a world of delicious baked croissants, bread, creme brulee and more!

London

There’s a good reason that roughly 30 million people visit London each year and it’s one of our favourite city break ideas. This capital city has it all, from cultural monuments to major tourist attractions and some great dining. Whether you live in the UK and are looking for a city statcation or are coming from further afield, it’s sure to tick all the boxes. See classic red phoneboxes, red buses, palaces, art galleries, churches and cathedrals and so much more during your time here. Plus, you can always enjoy some classic food such as fish and chips or a cream tea. Not sure where to stay? Well, how about a hotel in the city? Choose something within your budget and you can rest assured that the public transport system, including tubes, trains and buses, will be able to get you wherever you want to be around the city.

Rome

Rome is another major city that people flock to en mass. Make sure to consider the time of year that you visit, as temperatures can soar in the summer. This suits some and is less appealing to others. Rome’s major sites that many generally wish to see include the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and more. You can also easily head to Vatican City for views of St Paul’s and some of the most impressive art in the world.

Hopefully, one of the three major cities outlined above will help to tick your boxes when it comes to city breaks this year! Let us know your thoughts on these city break ideas.
