Christmas is just around the corner and it’s the perfect excuse to organise a trip and discover new places. There are cities that already have the Christmas charm that many travellers are looking for during these festivities, and that’s why below you can find some destinations to help you make a decision.

Salzburg

If you’re travelling with children, Salzburg is one of those perfect Christmas destinations for you, especially because of its fairy-tale aesthetics and the Christmas spirit that the city exudes.

You can visit the Christkindlmarkt Advent market on Domplazt, as well as the Residezplatz, considered to be one of the most beautiful and oldest squares in the world. In addition, there is a varied programme of events for all ages.

On the other hand, for the little ones, you should visit the Adventzauber market in Hellbrunn, which has a zoo and a special area where you can hand in your Christmas letter to Krampus himself

Warsaw

Another of the best destinations for Christmas travel is Warsaw, Poland. There, you can enjoy the old market square where the Warsaw mermaid is decorated specially for the occasion, as well as a Christmas market where you can buy local gastronomic and handcrafted products.

In Castle Square, there is a stage where different folk groups from all over the country sing Christmas carols and perform in traditional costumes.

Costa Rica

If you’d rather get away from the cold and snow, Costa Rica is your destination. There they celebrate Christmas Eve at 24ºC and welcome the New Year on the beach.

Costa Rica is a family-friendly country where Christmas is celebrated in its own special way, with a festival of lights and a night-time parade through the city centre. They also have a fair full of rides and food stalls.

If, on the other hand, you’re not really feeling the Christmas spirit and would rather do something else instead, December is the perfect month to stroll around and enjoy the beaches and weather. You can even try your hand at activities such as surfing or hiking.

Munich

Christmas in Germany is quite intense and is characterised, above all, by large numbers of Christmas markets that fill up the streets. They all have their magic, but the one in Munich stands out above the rest.

This market takes place from the end of November until Christmas Eve and is located in Marienplatz square. It is called Christkindlmarkt, although it is not the only flea market you can visit in the city, as there is one in Schwabing which is much more bohemian with stalls full of artists and craftsmen.

These markets have been held since the 14th century, and fortunately, the tradition has continued up to this day. At MarienPlatz, a huge Christmas tree is placed in the centre of the square, reaching a height of almost 30 metres and decorated with candles, which are lit at dusk.

Paris

This European city is probably the best place to enjoy a romantic trip with your partner, but it is also one of the best options for a family trip during Christmas.

The Disneyland Paris amusement park is transformed for the holiday and offers a wide variety of Christmas-related shows for both adults and children to enjoy.

One place you can’t miss is the Grand Palais, a landmark with huge windows that are often used for exhibitions. During this time of year, it is converted into an ice-skating rink that is considered one of the most famous in Europe.

On the other hand, there is the Christmas Market, full of a joyous Christmas atmosphere and with a great variety of typical French food stalls.

London

The quintessential Christmas destination is London, which at this time of year is filled with markets and lights to provide visitors with the Christmas atmosphere they’re looking for.

One of the most popular attractions is Winter Wonderland, a huge fair located in Hyde Park where you’ll find rides and food stalls. The perfect place to go to if you’re travelling with children.

For adults, however, there is another form of holiday entertainment. Players can visit the casino in London. Although there are websites like VegasSlotsOnline, for example, with the best online casinos, where you are guaranteed 100% security, the land-based casino is always an option. The difference is that playing online you can choose from a wide variety of bonuses, such as no deposit bonuses, welcome bonuses, and free spins, among others. And if you don’t want to shell out some of your Christmas pocket money, the site has free games that you can enjoy, such as A Christmas Story, A Christmas Carol, and many more Christmas-themed free slots.

If you prefer visiting a wide variety of different things, you can’t miss the Christmas lights that decorate the whole city or the ice rinks and flea markets. There are also carol concerts in many parts of the city.

Have you already decided on one of these destinations for your next holiday retreat?
