Canary Wharf Summer Screens 2025
A blockbuster summer awaits as Canary Wharf’s Canada Square Park will once again transform into a free to attend open air cinema. Showing a huge range of films, a Mario Kart Championship, Just Dance sessions and live broadcasts of the season’s unmissable sporting events, Summer Screens will run from 29th May to 27th September.

Film Club
The much-loved Film Club is back and bigger than ever, with the Wharf’s largest line up to date. The programme will feature a mix of fan favourites across every genre from blockbusters and cult classics to Bollywood and Hollywood.
Highlights include recent releases such as Wicked and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, along with crowd-pleasers like Top Gun: Maverick, Mean Girls and Dirty Dancing. Saturday mornings will see the return of family favourites including Moana 2, Finding Nemo, and Matilda the Musical.
On Tuesday 24th June The Hunger Games will be screened ahead of its first ever stage adaptation, The Hunger Games: On Stage, coming to the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre this autumn.
Gaming on the Big Screen
When it’s time to let off some steam, Canary Wharf’s Summer Screens are the only place in London offering free Nintendo Switch 2 gaming sessions.
Both the Switch 2 console and new Mario Kart World game launch in the UK on Thursday 5th June, just in time to try them out on the big screen at the Wharf’s Mario Kart Championship, taking place across four heats throughout the summer. Winners will be awarded with exclusive prizes from Pitch, Canary Wharf’s new virtual golf club and riverside bar, while the ultimate winner will have the honour of being crowned King of the Karts.
Families can also get the chance to try out the new Mario Kart World at weekend sessions, or get their groove on playing Just Dance.
Summer of Sport
An unmissable season of sport is set to take place this summer. From Wimbledon and F1 to Royal Ascot and cricket, there is plenty on the big screen to keep sports fans entertained.
Canada Square Park is set to be the place to catch all the action from the Women’s Rugby World Cup, kicking off with England vs USA on Friday 22nd August and running until Saturday 27th September.
With over 80 cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, fans can grab a drink or snack to cheer on and toast every tackle and try.
Make a Day of It
Whether visitors are settling in for a movie or stopping by for a game, there are plenty of delicious picnic options around. Ready-made lunches are available from Waitrose, Shake Shack or Wahaca’s Burrito Van, while pizza fans will be happy with the options from Franco Manca or @homepizza. For those seeking a somewhat elevated picnic experience, Sticks’n’Sushi and newly opened Din Tai Fung both provide takeaway options.
Badiani, Joe Blake’s and Blank Street Coffee offer artisan gelato, expertly crafted coffee and sweet treats. If a sit down meal over a movie is on the cards, The Ivy’s terrace offers prime views of the screens, while The Oasis Terrace and The Parlour provide stylish outdoor settings to enjoy the longer evenings.
For those looking to start their day the right way, one of this year’s Summer Screens sponsors, lululemon, is hosting four morning yoga sessions. From 26th June to 17th July, these weekly 45 minute classes will start at 8am to leave yogis feeling energised and ready to take on the day.
