Cruising is a holiday unlike any other. You wake up each day in a brand new destination or sailing out on majestic waters (most of the time!) where you can see beautiful sunsets and even passing dolphins. It offers a chance to relax, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet to also witness some of the most incredible sights and try new experiences each and every day. 1) The chance to see so many new places
One of the best reasons to take a cruise in 2020 is that you will get the chance to tick a number of places off your bucket list. In just one trip you can go from eating authentic pasta under the shadow of the Colosseum to sipping the finest Port wines under the sun in Porto and climbing a dormant volcano in La Palma. In no other holiday could you so effortlessly hop from country to country with no extra expense or travel hassle.
2) It’s hassle-free
Cruising is a hassle-free holiday. This is particularly true if you don’t pick a fly-cruise and just take one of the many cruises from Southampton. There is no travelling to the airport, worrying about luggage restrictions and the flight itself, instead you can leisurely make your way to the ship while your luggage is all taken care of and delivered to your cabin. Your holiday begins as soon as you get to the cruise terminal, where you can explore the ship and relax with a cocktail before you’ve even set off to your first destination!
3) There’s something for the whole family
Another of our reasons to take a cruise in 2020 is that there’s truly something for the whole family. It can be hard to find a holiday with enough for the whole family to do, but cruising does just that. On sea days there is so much for the whole family to do, you’ll be wishing for more time onboard the ship to try it all! There are kids clubs, romantic speciality restaurants and many other features. 4) You only need to unpack once
If you weren’t cruising but wanted to visit multiple destinations, it would involve lots of moving around, staying in Hotels & hostels that you might not know what you are expecting and packing and unpacking multiple times. With a cruise, you simply head to your cabin on day one, unpack everything and let the ship carry you from place to place, safe in the knowledge you don’t need to worry about a thing and the only time you need to pack again is on the last time of your trip.
5) The ships themselves are amazing
Cruising ensures the journey is just as fun (if not more so!) than the destinations themselves. There is so much to explore and experience you are spoilt for choice. More and more new ships are bringing extra features and luxurious settings at reasonable prices to the table. Depending on the cruise line you choose, there is entertainment varying from ice skating shows to race tracks, laser quests, 4D cinemas, bowling and zip-lines. There are top theatre shows, swimming pools and hot tubs and other activities such as cookery clubs, quizzes and games.
