We headed to Heddon Street Kitchen for their new menu launch…
Seen in the City was delighted to be invited to the launch of the brand new Kitchen Table tasting menu at the Heddon Street Kitchen. A gourmet fiesta, the six course line-up, designed lovingly by head chef Guy Betteridge, will tantalize your taste buds and send you to foodie heaven.
Captained expertly by Guy, the open kitchen gives view to roaring ovens, bustling cooks and a glimmer of drizzles, sauces and garnishes before the palette of dishes is presented. A feast for the stomach AND the eyes.
Priced at £65 including a cocktail, the Kitchen Table menu is value for money in London and does not disappoint. With friendly wait staff who aim to please, and welcome hosts who are only too happy to help, the atmosphere at the Heddon Street Kitchen is buzzy without being pretentious. Slightly hidden away, just off Picadilly, this little gem of a restaurant is one to watch.
Cocktail O’clock: a crash course in cocktail classics with mischievous mixologist George. Seen in the City recommends: “From a few to a thrill” – absolutely delicious! (Note: This does not come as part of the new Kitchen Table experience, but an add-on)
Light bites: Like a storm in a teacup, these miniature mushroom soups are adorably Alice in Wonderland.
Starter for ten: scallops with treacle cured bacon, spicy tuna tartare and Flatbread with butternut squash and caper berries. Served on a long, solid wood sharing platter, this course is an immersive experience.
Posh nosh: Beef Wellington with truffle parsley mash, braised ox cheek and crispy shallots. A taste of tornado.
Palate Cleanser: a refreshing blend of passionfruit and lime sorbet with a tangy citrus gel and edible floral garnish.
Something sweet: an extremely boozy banana and maple cake drenched in rum and set alight. Head chef Guy Betteridge did the honours. #matchmade
Chef’s Surprise: Seen in the City was among the first to try these amazing ice lollies. Inspired by childhood summers, they are available from June 28th until August 21st. Created in three bespoke flavours – cherry, wild strawberry and lime – and dipped in a divine quick-setting salt and vinegar chocolate sauce. Try them plain or coat them in sprinkles or gooey marshmallow… (Note: This does not come as part of the new Kitchen Table experience, but an add-on)
Head on down for a truly delicious and unforgettable meal, trust me, you won’t regret it…
