As restrictions ease, you no longer have to have all celebrations at home. Here are some top tips on hosting an unforgettable anniversary celebration in 2021...

Set your budget

If you are planning on celebrating your anniversary in style with a big party then you need to firstly think about your budget. You could also combine this with the end of lockdown and celebrate being able to have some normality back too! It’s really crucial that once you have set your budget that you stick to it to ensure that you don’t overspend as it can be easy to overspend when you start looking into options! If you are planning a celebration for a big milestone anniversary such as 25 years together then it’s even more reason to splash out and maybe increase your budget and spend a little more, as it’s a once in a lifetime occasion.

Decide how you want to celebrate

Once you have set your budget, you need to think about what type of celebration it is that you want to have for your anniversary. One of the most popular types of anniversary celebrations is to organise a party and is a great way to invite all of your friends and family. If a party isn’t your thing you may want to opt for a mini holiday with your closest friends and family. This might be a nice thing to do with some of your fellow married friends and will give you a chance to celebrate in style! If you have a big budget you might want to book a weekend or week holiday stay in the UK, or if you have a larger budget then you could look at going abroad together.

Choose your guest list

Once you’ve decided on the type of celebration that you’d like to have you will need to think about who you want to invite. The number of people that you invite to your wedding celebration will be dependent on the type of celebration that you are having. If you have decided to have a party then you could invite as many people that the venue can accommodate. Sometimes this is the easiest way and most cost effective way to celebrate with as many people as possible, all you need to organise is the venue, evening entertainment and perhaps some evening food for your guests. If you are going to organise a couples holiday then you will probably only want to invite perhaps four of your friends and you might consider asking them to pay for themselves if you are deciding to go abroad.

Gift for your partner

If you are planning an anniversary celebration and looking for an equally unforgettable gift for your partner, you might want to think about the number of years you have been together and what memorable milestone this represents. There are certain themes and gift ideas for each year anniversary so this is something to think about when you are looking for a gift for your partner. If this is your first anniversary, the theme for the first anniversary gift is paper so it’s worth thinking about this when it comes to a gift idea, or you could even incorporate this into the theme for your anniversary celebration! It’s a great opportunity to be creative and think differently.

Capture the moment

The best way to make sure that all those special moments throughout your anniversary celebration are captured is to hire a photographer. It might be a nice idea to hire the same photographer that you hired for your wedding day. If your budget won’t stretch to hiring a professional photographer then there are some options for you. You could buy lots of disposable cameras and leave these around the room and get your guests to take their own photos during the evening.
