Summer makeup trends of 2016
Spring Summer 2016 served up an array of different beauty trends. On the catwalks we saw large eyelashes, lip oils, glossy lids and many more. Have a read below of this season’s makeup trends.
Non-touring
Instead of doing a heavy contoured look try the newest trend ‘non-touring’. This is a technique that gives you that lovely mid-summer glow. It’s all about the dewy and radiant skin.
Lip Oils
Lip oils are one of the latest trends this summer; they are a cross between a lip balm and a lip gloss. They are infused with essential oils that leave your lips feeling nourished and hydrated. Lancôme’s next big thing is the juicy shaker, packaged in a mini cocktail shaker; this formula contains four essential oils and delivers the perfect amount of colour.
Glossy Eyelids
The key is to create a soft and dewy shine that complements your complexion. Cream, liquid and gels give you the best result. you can also try combining a lip gloss with a smoky eye shadow.
Blue Eyes
From cobalt blue to turquoise, blue was the colour this season. It is a fresh new way of adding a little colour to your makeup look. An easy way of incorporating this colour into your look is adding a little bit to your lower lash line, this shot of colour with leave you looking fresh and modern. A sheer wash of colour of pale blue over the lids is a more subtle way of taking on this trend. Try out Nars eye paint in Solomon Islands.
Clumpy Lashes
There was a big 70s revival on the spring/summer runway this year. By brushing you mascara back and forth you are able to achieve big clumpy lashes.
Cranberry Shadow
Cranberry eye shadows can look flattering on most skin tones, they have a hint of brown and red in them which looks very elegant and sultry. Try using Chanel le crayon khôl in Ambre. Brush the colour all over, blend out the edges and make sure to fade the shadow in the inner corners.
