The world-leading Victoria and Albert Museum of Art & Design (V & A) and the premier London Design Festival (LDF) have announced their highly anticipated 2021 festival. LDF will beautifully celebrate the merging of design and innovation in response to climate change and the covid-19 pandemic, among other challenges facing society.
The Festival
The 19th instalment of the London Design Festival is one of the essential calendar events in the long awaited 2021 autumn creative season, alongside London Fashion Week and the London Film Festival.
The London Design Festival is set to begin on the 18th of September at the V & A museum and will run through September 26th. You will have one week to experience instalments like the world’s first robot artist, Ai-Da. Ai-da will be featured in couture by Auroboros; an innovative triumph you will need to perceive for yourself.
Expect Innovation
Additionally, you will encounter the innovation of V & A’s low carbon aluminium Pavillion – it may even trick your eye into believing that this architectural breakthrough is floating on the water of V & A’s John Madejski Garden. The installation, Between Forests and Skies, makes a point to prove the resilience and strength of aluminium as a material.
The iconic LDF takeover will allow you to look at the historic V & A museum in an exciting and unfamiliar state. What is always a deeply insightful and thought-provoking experience at V & A will be unconventionally more so during festival week. The world observed festival will open a curtain to our future.
Experience The Impact of Design
When you attend LDF, you also support its mission to open the public’s eye to the potential of creative and cultural design. LDF believes this kind of deliberate exploration with innovation will aid the process in kick-starting London’s economy and revitalise the capital. Even in 2020, LDF provided a space to open dialogue and connection between businesses, individuals and the creator sector as a whole.
Just a 5-minute walk from South Kensington Station, The V & A Museum is an essential trip during the London Design Festival in September.
If you fancy a trip before the museum’s transformation, it is open now, Wednesday – Sunday 10.00 to 17.45. And as always, the entrance to V & A is free of charge, just be sure to purchase tickets ahead of time to ensure a spot.
