The Thomas Earnshaw Grand Calendar is a watch which portrays quality and luxury…
This is the first watch we have received from Thomas Earnshaw and it was not a disappointment. The watch arrives in a rather grand wooden box with the Earnshaw logo and writing engraved into it. The function of this box is clearly designed to protect the watch during shipping, but being so grand your anticipation is high and you get excited to see what’s inside.
Upon opening the box, the first thing to come to light is the watch-casing. Made of stainless steel with a Gold Ionic plating finish, this gives off the impression of real luxury. The light reflects perfectly off the head giving it that polished shiny look.
The case measures 41mm in diameter with the dial being extremely well presented with four different sub dials to it: Day, Date, Month and 24Hr Indicator. The dial itself is beautiful and a show of real craftsmanship. The texture behind the dial has a unique appearance with a crystal like effect which gives the watch a polished finish and further reiterates its high quality.
The Strap is brown and bold with a crocodile like texture to it. Made of good quality leather, it fits comfortably around your wrist and feels comfortable. The overall length is spot on. Attached to the end of the strap is Thomas Earnshaws signature buckle – Gold with the Earnshaw engraving, it matches the head of the watch and is made of real quality. A Tail like inset is used to connect the buckle which is unique to Thomas Earshaw.
Now onto the back of the case. The Grand Calendar is powered by Automatic Movement. This sits at the back of the watch and is very impressive to look at. The finish again, shows off some exceptional craftsmanship, with a crystal like finish. The small blue screws add to the appearance of what looks like a master piece in design work. This watch also boasts an 5 ATM of water resistance – Perfect for a rainy day in England.
Overall this watch wears extremely well, it fits perfectly around the wrist and coming in at 100g the Grand Calendar does not weigh too much, allowing for a comfortable fit. For us the watch certainly stands out, showing classiness and luxury. For this reason, it would be a perfect fit for a date night or any occasion where a suit is involved.
If you are after something that looks the part and really feels the part but do not want to spend an extortionate amount then Thomas Earnshaw Grand Calendar is a must. This Grand Calendar watch comes in at an impressive price of £390 and can be purchased on the Thomas Earnshaw website.
Coming in four other different styles you have the option of the silver head with a black dial, silver head with a silver dial, gold head with a silver dial and blue hand and finally the gold head with a black dial. This ranges between £365 – £380.
