The 10 Swimming Pools You Need To See

Date:

When it comes to travel urges, this is about as addictive as it gets.

We’ve curated a line up of some of the most stunning swimming pools in the world. From Italy to Indonesia, we’ve got everything from the most luxurious private lagoons to the beautiful historical public baths of Budapest. There’s something for everyone and every budget, plus a few to lust over too. It’s time to break out the bikinis and swim trunks guys and girls. Don’t blame us when the wanderlust bug bites you.

1. Bintan Lagoon Resort, Indonesia

I was so lucky to stay here for one amazing night during my travels in the Far East. I constantly dream about going back.

2. Double Tree Hilton, Marjan Island, Ras al-Khaimah

Really, the picture says it all. And there’s more to come from Ras al-Khaimah, mainly because we just can’t wait to visit.

Villa Filippa is a private luxury pad. Yet you can actually rent this dream holiday home here.

4. Koh Samui, Thailand

This infinity pool is just perfectly instagrammable. But unfortunately it’s from a private villa that isn’t up for rent. However, we have the perfect alternative. Imagine seeing the sun set from here!

5. Carribbean Pool, Sandals Grande Antigua

We’ve actually written about this one before (read here) but we just had to bring it up again because we love the intimate nature of this refreshing retreat. There are actually six fresh water pools and two swim-up pool bars at the hotel, so it’s a pool-lover’s dream!

6.  Szechenyi Baths & Swimming Pool, Budapest

Budapest is one of my favourite cities, and this is one of the best reasons to go there. These public thermal baths are among the largest in Europe. Built in 1913, the architecture is amazing. What’s more, it costs only around £14 at peak times!

7. Hotel El Andalous, Marrakech

I was here last year and I wish I’d never left. The hotel poolside has the perfect tanning conditions, while it’s sheltered by luscious trees and plenty of  parasols for guests. It’s really affordable too and the staff are super friendly.

8. The Westin, Costa Navarino, Greece

This is another one we’ve written about before, when Seen In The City was invited to experience the historical delights of Costa Navarino. But you can see why the swimming pool made the cut! Top pick for a romantic weekend away.

 9. Banyan Tree, Al Wadi, Ras al-Khaimah

Yes, we know it’s another one from RAK, but we’re big fans of Banyan Tree hotels and we just love the way these pools have been landscaped against the hotel’s elegant architecture.

10. Royal Obidos Golf & Spa Resort, Portugal

A final offering from a review we did earlier. Here’s  reminder of what the pool flanking the Royal Obidos hotel looks like. Not only is the long-line design highly unusual, but the tiles lining it are spectacular too.
