Why we love Brighton in the winter

Date:

The famous seaside city of Brighton is packed with Christmas delights…

Winter is full of fun and exciting treats and places to explore. From Christmas markets to dazzlings lights, it’s a great time to adventure out into new places. Brighton is filled with eccentric and bizarre happenings all year round, but in the winter, it becomes a haven of Christmassy delights all over the city.

With all of the wintery excitement coming in the next month, these are some of the reasons why we love Brighton in the winter:

Ice skating at the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink

The first big indicator that winter has arrived in Brighton is the ice rink at the Royal Pavilion. Fun for everyone, whether you are a pro ice-skater or a falling over mess, it brings a bundle of laughter and a great outing with friends, family or your other half.

Christmas markets

Already there have been little markets and fairs popping up all over the city, offering christmassy delights for everyone to enjoy. The Open Market, off London Road, offers events, fairs and markets throughout November and December to get your Christmas shopping kickstarted. From jewellery to candles to foodie delicacies, there is something for everyone.

Late night shopping in the Laines

The Laines has a fun and upbeat atmosphere all year round, but there’s something special about it at night time in winter. On December 8th, North Laine is holding a late night shopping experience. With the hustle and bustle of shoppers, alongside the brisk wintery air, it’ll feel like a proper traditional winter’s evening.

Christmas lights

Whether you are in the centre of North Street, along the seafront or down the various lanes, christmas lights are unmissable in Brighton. Wandering around with a warming hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night, is one of our favourite things to do and take in all of the beauty of the dazzling lights.img_3033

The cosy coffee shops

Brighton is filled with an abundance of quirky cafes. From the Flour Pot bakery to the Blackbird tea rooms, there is nowhere better to curl up with a gingerbread latte or caramel hot chocolate and watch the beautiful city pass by through the window.
