With the ability to work from home, it’s easier than ever to slip into bad working habits. While we used to be able to leave our jobs at the office and use our home to simply relax, nowadays you can access your emails and tasks at all hours – which isn’t so great for our wellbeing. This is why it’s so important to have hobbies or activities to do that will help you unwind after work. Here are some of our top suggestions…

top tips to unwind after work

Head to the gym

Heading to the gym releases plenty of feel-good endorphins which are just what you need after a stressful day. Pump away at that treadmill or exercise class and you are sure to feel miles better after. While it may be the last thing you feel like doing after a knackering day in the office, your body and mind will thank you for it.

Play a game on the computer

If you don’t fancy heading out and find your fingers itching to be on your laptop, put it to better use than working in your downtime and find a game to play instead. There are many games you can play, from the classic Sims to games like Reel rush slot or even online chess. Find something that best suits you and you’ll soon find yourself winding down after work.

Learn to cook

Cooking has been found to be a stress-reliever for many and if it’s something you’ve never really dabbled in, why not give it a go? It is a great creative outlet and you’ll (hopefully!) receive something delicious out of it at the end. You could start with something simple and build up to more complex dishes. Why not invest in a good cookbook or cookery class?

Take a bath

Never underestimate the power of a hot, bubbly bath to remove all the tension from your work day! We recommend you get some good smellies in to complete the experience. Why not try a bath bomb or a delicious bubble bath? You could light some candles and play some music for a truly soothing experience.
