A brand new rooftop bar, PocketSquare Skyline Bar & Terrace is ready to invite Londoners to its experiment-driven cocktail experience. Located on the 9th floor of the Hyatt Place London City East hotel, this bar is making an unforgettable entrance with its largely gin-based cocktails.
Kristian Smith, manager of PocketSquare, collaborated with his team in a cocktail Laboratory to create an experience that brings the style of East London and the rich history of the city into eight professionally culminated cocktails. Each ingredient is used to create original flavour profiles that work harmoniously with a selection of bite-sized dishes.
The Sedition cocktail comes as a nod to The Royal Navy, which is paired with a tempura oyster finished with a ponzu dressing; white the Oscar Wilde-inspired Aqua Vita pairs with a smoke-cured, vodka-infused salmon.
Accessible straight from Aldgate East station, The PocketSquare Skyline Bar & Terrace will give you sweeping eastern views of The Gherkin, Canary Wharf and the 02. The interior of PocketSquare also matches the remarkable outdoor terrace. It keeps up with the impressive qualities of the skyline by including London-based artist, Jay Kaes artwork. You will be immersed by the statements of mirrored colours, woven velvets, copper tones, natural wood, and unmistakable patterns. The bar’s interior is chic yet maintains a style that mirrors the eccentric history of East London.
The intimate and tailored skyline experience doesn’t stop here, there are regular DJ bookings that elevate the electric vibe that is PocketSquare, Thursday through Saturday.
To uncover the luxury and story behind each speciality cocktail, head into PocketSquare Tuesday-Friday: 5 pm to midnight; or on Saturday: 3 pm to midnight. Exclusive use parties are available as well as afternoons for small gatherings, or post-work hangouts.
