Christmas cocktails with wine

Hot Chocolate Cocktail Made With Red Wine

Yup, you read that right. You might think hot chocolate does not mix well with wine. Well, think again. You might even fool your guests into thinking you didn’t do anything creative but they will  be amazed by how delicious this cocktail is.

Take some chocolate chips, high-quality red wine and milk. Mix it all in a saucepan until everything melts down. Flavour it with a pinch of salt and vanilla extract.

To add even more spice, instead of a spoon, use a mint-flavored candy cane for that extra kick.

Holiday Spritzer

Legend says cranberries and white wine goes together better than peaches and cream. Lol, just kidding. We totally made that up.

Nevertheless, this Christmas cocktail is very easy to make.

One bottle of white wine is mixed with three glasses of cranberry juice and three glasses of ginger ale, topped with some fresh cranberries to give it that special Christmassy look.

The vibrant colors of the cranberries will shine on our Christmas table.

Purple Manhattan

Want to feel like Gossip Girl on Christmas?

Put on your best dress, some lipgloss, toss your hair in a bun Serena van der Woodsen and throw one hell of a party!
Of course, you need cocktails to go with your look. This Purple Manhattan cocktail is made with red wine, bourbon (oz depends on your preference) and simple syrup.

Add sour cherries or orange peels for extra kick.

Prosecco Sparkling Blueberry Cocktail

Prosecco lovers unite!

We have something delicious in store for you.

The first step to making this Christmas cocktail is to make a simple blueberry syrup. Put together sugar and blueberries into a saucepan. Stir until ready.

Pour the simple blueberry syrup into the glasses, add Prosecco over the syrup.

The bubbles from the sparkling wine will dance with the blueberry syrup making it look like a snowglobe.

You can decorate it with a piece of rosemary.

Sparkling Rosé Christmas Sparkler

We promised we have everything for everybody’s taste.

Take some high champagne glasses, pour some cranberry juice, add crushed sugar cubes and finish it with sparkling rosé.

If you don’t have sparkling rosé, you can go for regular sparkling wine.

Mulled Red Wine with a Twist

This recipe might not be considered as a Christmas cocktail recipe but i think we can label it as such because it’s not your regular mulled wine.

Ski-centers all over Germany and Austria are offering this special mulled wine to tired skiers who are eager to warm themselves after a long day of dominating the slopes.

Boil cinnamon stick, water and sugar on high heat. Once it boils, reduce the heat. Squeeze half an orange into the pan along with the other ingredients. Insert the cloves into the orange peel. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Wait until the mixture thickens and looks like syrup. Pour your favorite red wine into the mixture. Make sure it’s not simmering, you want to put the wine in while it’s hot.

It’s best served in mugs, decorated with orange peels.

Now, depending on what you and your guests want, it’s time to decide which cocktail you are going to go to for your Christmas party. One thing is for sure, no matter what you choose, don’t overdo it or you will end up too hungover to function tomorrow morning.
