Astro tourism, also known as star bathing, is set to be one of the trends shaping travel in 2024. The all-new Sandals Dunn’s River hotel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, announced the brand’s first-ever Stargazing Concierge, where travellers can learn about the Caribbean skies whilst enjoying time with their partner. This experience is offered on a complimentary basis when guests book a stay in the resort’s new Coyaba Sky Villa Swim-up Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary, the brand’s first open-air rooftop suites, complete with telescopes on the roof terrace. Upon request, the Stargazing Concierge will arrange bespoke stargazing experiences for couples to enjoy on their private rooftops. The Stargazing Concierge will also help guests identify constellations and meteor activity in the Caribbean sky.

Offering stunning views of the Ocho Rios night sky, the Coyaba Sky Villa Swim-up Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary feature their own private soaking tubs, a sun-lounging area, and direct access to a sprawling river pool. These suites also come complete with 24-hour room service and complimentary Butler Elite service

Go off the beaten track in Curaçao

One of the ABC islands situated alongside Aruba and Bonaire, Curaçao is a Dutch-Caribbean gem. Packed with amazing beaches, nature and a beautiful capital city, this is an island with plenty to explore. At Sandals Royal Curaçao, the two top category butler suites come with the use of complimentary MINI Coopers, so guests can get out and explore the island on one day of their stay. Another ‘Sandals first’ at this resort is an offsite dining experience, Island Inclusive. Guests who book to stay for seven nights or more in any butler level suite at Sandals Royal Curaçao can enjoy one $250 USD voucher per stay, to dine out at a selection of eight gourmet partner restaurants on the island, with roundtrip transfers included.

The Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalows are located in a quiet part of the resort and surround a heart-shaped swimming pool, so guests can jump straight out of bed and into the water. The Awa Seaside Butler Bungalows overlook the beach and come with their own private infinity pools. Both of these top suite categories come with Butler Elite Service and 24-hour room service.

Sandals Royal Curaçao opened in June 2022 as the first Sandals resort on the Dutch-Caribbean Island of Curaçao. The property is located within the exclusive 3,000-acre Santa Barbara estate, facing the west, so it captures one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular sunsets. There are eight restaurants, three food trucks, 13 bars and four swimming pools, including a two-level infinity pool overlooking the sea. The romantic resort design and touches such as heart-shaped seats for two on the beach make this resort a romantic paradise. These are also some of the best seats in the house for watching the island’s sunsets with a cocktail or bottle of champagne.
