It seems there’s a brunch for everything in London these days, yet does this mean we’re getting sick of it? Not by any stretch of the imagination! In fact, we’ve got a brunch on our roster that combines bottomless prosecco, delicious food, live entertainment and karaoke all in one, making it an ideal contender when you want to spend your weekend doing something ridiculously fun. Where you want to sip bubbles in a classy venue, catch up with friends and then sing your heart out to cheesy classics until your jaw hurts. BAM Karaoke Box in Victoria – the luxury karaoke brand from Paris – has recently opened its doors for its UK debut and its brunch is unlike any other we’ve been to. Located in the heart of Victoria, it combines private karaoke with ‘Parisian style and sophistication’ and exceeds all expectations.
Usually, when you head to a brunch, you get 90 minutes of bottomless drinks then just as you’re starting to feel tipsy, your feet are ready for a dance and you have a real urge to belt out some karaoke classics, you’re turfed out onto the streets of London to try and find somewhere to start the party. With BAM Karaoke box you get a bit of everything and seeing as the experience lasts for four hours, you really get your money and times worth.
We recently headed to the ‘It’s Britney brunch‘ where you can either pay £45 for a free-flowing brunch with live entertainment or £60 for the prior alongside 2 hours of karaoke. We recommend opting for the karaoke on the end as it was a real highlight to the experience! The venue itself exudes class and you you really feel as though you’ve stumbled upon an-old time Parisian speakeasy. You enter to a bar area where sunlight streams in, opulent colours adorn the walls and velvet chairs with jewel-toned cushions offer a place to sit with a cocktail before or after the show. We were led down to the main area which is underground and the atmosphere here is electric, the decor beautiful and the tone set for an incredible few hours.
Renaissance-style paintings adorned with famous song lyrics line the walls, low-level lighting adds an air of sophistication and there’s a small stage at the centre of the room. We take our seats and are straight away served two glasses of ice-cold prosecco and a plate of potato tots. Mouth-wateringly delicious, we devour these as the host for the afternoon steps on stage. This is a drag brunch and the two acts are undeniably fabulous, their performances incredible and their ability to work the room absolutely magic. I don’t want to give away too much here, but you can expect plenty of singing, audience participation, dancing and lip-sync battles over the two hours!
While the act’s performing you feast on two courses, with dishes including the likes of Confit duck hash, fried chicken and potato waffle, soft scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and a bacon bloody Mary flatbread among others. Desserts include an ice cream BAMwich, iced yoghurt parfait and a croissant french toast which was utterly divine.
Once the entertainment is up, if you’ve selected the karaoke addition, you’re led to a private karaoke room where you can sing along to a wide range of classics and contemporary hits. The rooms are all themed and decorated to perfection. They feel modern, spacious and there’s plenty of room to sit as well as dance to your favourite songs. Microphones are wireless and you can control the volumes of the backing track, mic and effects so you can really customise your experience depending on your preference. One main screen offers a wide catalogue of songs, while another allows you to digitally order food and drink, request assistance and extend your karaoke session should you wish.
The entire experience here is flawless from start to finish. The venue feels exclusive and special, yet the price is very reasonable considering everything you get included. You get so much more than just bottomless prosecco here, you get live entertainment, karaoke and an experience you’ll never forget (no matter how much some of your friends’ singing might haunt your nightmares!) There are a number of brunch experiences coming up, including a West End brunch, Naughty 90s brunch, Hip Hop brunch and more.
