Christmas by Mercato is the Ultimate Festive Spot in the City

Let’s face it, London is one of the most magical places to be during Christmas time. Yet it can also be pretty chaotic. With an influx of tourists, experiences, and things to see, it can feel like you can’t turn a corner without bumping into someone hidden behind mountains of shopping bags. While this might be the case, we’ve got the perfect spot located right in the centre with just the right amount of festive chaos, but also a hidden haven of calm thrown right in – Christmas by Mercato

This festive season, Mercato Mayfair invites Londoners to experience Christmas by Mercato, a festive transformation inside the Grade-I listed former church on North Audley Street. Tucked in one of the busiest spots in London, it’s the perfect place to duck in for a bite to eat, to catch up with friends and feel well and truly festive. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted with the most incredible hot chocolate stand, complete with warm cookie dipping pots, blowtorched marshmallow toppings and a bell to ring when you want them to stop grating fresh chocolate on top of your hot chocolate.

@seeninthecity Mercato Mayfair Christmas at Mercato winter terrace is the perfect spot this festive season! Expect the best hot chocolate of your life, 3 types of mulled wine, loads of food vendors and stunning views over the city. It’s cosy, cute and perfect for night or day! #mercatomayfair #londonfestiverooftoop #londonrooftopbar #londonchristmas #londonhotspots ♬ It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas – Michael Bublé

There’s mulled wine stands, a shop packed with Christmas decorations, and an irresistible counter of artisan cookies, pastries, and festive bakes from London’s best small-batch bakeries; including Le Choux, Paul Rhodes Bakery, and Wicked Cookies. Head a bit further in and you’re greeted with an eye-boggling display of food stands, offering everything from pasta, to burgers, steak, to tacos. You can find any sort of cuisine, and the best part is that your party can all order something different, or you can get an array of dishes to share.

Our favourite part of the Christmas by Mercato however, is hidden away on the rooftop. Head upstairs and you’ll find their Festive Terrace Bar, a rooftop hideaway that feels worlds away from the bustling streets of Mayfair just below. Draped with fairy lights and complete with high stools for optimum vantage points over the city, it’s beautifully cosy, and offers the ideal spot to catch up with friends or head on a winter date night. Their bar offers house-made mulled wine where you can choose between red, white, rose or non-alcoholic wine (we recommend trying a sample of each, purely for research purposes of course!)

There are also a range of hot toddies, each topped with a cinnamon-scented smoke bubble that makes it almost too good-looking to drink. We recommend grabbing a table, bringing your food up and whiling away your afternoon or evening with a mulled wine in hand, sampling the array of different food, or feasting on the cookies from the Christmas Counter.

If you bring your kids or furry friends, you can write letters to Santa, penning their wishes via Mercato Mail, the venue’s North Pole delivery service, while fourlegged visitors can enjoy a delicious festive pup cup. Offering a family Christmas experience like no other right in the heart of Central London, Christmas By Mercato is an unmissable addition to London’s Winter destinations.
