First Look: Costa Del Croydon, A Rooftop Beach Bringing A Taste Of Summer To The Cronx

Did someone say heatwave? We have the perfect offer for sun seekers right here in the heart of Croydon. From the 1st August, head to the rooftop of Centrale’s multi-storey car park where you can find Costa Del Croydon – an urban beach paradise offering a unique blend of seaside fun and city vibes right in the heart of Croydon.

Relax in the cozy beach hut seats, have a go on Flip Out’s daft trikes, cool off in their water splash zone and take part in competitive games such as bumper cars and hook a duck. The event is free, but there fees do apply for Bungee Trampolines, Bumper cars and Hook-a-duck.

A wide variety of activities will be on for the entire month of August at Costa Del Croydon, including Back to the 90s Bingo on the Beach, Matless Self Car Yoga, to Salsa and Dance lessons from Latin Flow and Rumba Latina to music from Croydon voices Choir and the Croydon Steel Orchestra among many more! Details will be updated on the website weekly. Some of the first week’s activities include:

Thurs 1st August: Hula Hooping classes

12:30 – 14:30 /16:30 – 18:30Come and unlock your playful side and join us for a relaxed session of hula hoopingfor all the family. Ideal for Tots, adults and everyone in between!

Friday 2nd August: Puppet Making with Bunny and Gonk

12:30 – 14:30 / 16:30 – 18:30

Join local puppeteer Bunny and her favourite puppet friend Gonk for some fun sock puppet making. Your very own puppet friend to take home with you!

Saturday 3rd August: Salsa Classes on the beach with Rumba Latina

12:00 – 14:00/ 16:00 – 18:00

Experience the vibrant rhythms of Latin America as RumbaLatinaUK brings the party to Costa Del Croydon! Rumbalatina will be teaching some Salsa classes, animations and bringing all thegood vibes! All ages/genders welcome, no partner needed!

Sunday 4th August: Street Art class on the beach with Alec LDN

12:00 – 14:00/ 16:00 – 18:00

Alec is part of the fabric of Croydon, using canvas or concrete allows him to communicate with the whole community. Alec strives to inspire and create opportunities for tomorrow’s adult generation, bringing creativity and representation to communities. Art for all.

Monday 5th August: Storytelling with Peasoup: The Best Story Ever!

Katie & Matthew are on a mission to discover the best story ever! Can you help them? Armed with their trusty typewriter they’ll gather some of Croydon’s best stories and you’ll have your very own story to take home fresh from their typewriter!

Wednesday 7th August: Baby & toddler Music Class with Georgia

Georgia Andrews is an award-winning performer that plays multiple folk instruments and will be leading a fun and relaxing creative session for both babies and guardians where we will co-create music and learn basic rhythm, percussion, song & signs.
