London is getting a taste of one of the US’s most covetable casual-dining chains Eggslut with the UK’s first branch opening – Eggslut Portobello Road…
If you’ve ever been to the US, it’s likely you would have heard of, or come across the famous Eggslut – a wildly popular restaurant chain. Whether you got the chance to try it, or have been considering a trip to the US just to get a slice of the action, now you don’t have to. For Eggslut are opening their first ever site in the UK! This August 7th will see the opening of Eggslut Portobello Road, offering West Londoners the chance to get a taste of the American casual dining concept which takes egg-cellent breakfast and takes it one whole step further.
Eggslut has redefined the use of the humble egg as simply a breakfast add-on and crafted an innovative menu of delicious offerings throughout the day. The egg-centric menu features a wide selection of egg-filled sandwiches and specialities with dishes made fresh to order. They are famed for their delicious and highly instagrammable dishes, including two of their most famous offerings – The Slut: coddled egg on top of a smooth potato purée, poached in a glass jar, topped with grey salt and chives, served with slices of baguette and The Fairfax: A sandwich made with soft scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and sriracha mayo in a warm brioche bun.
Nestled in the heart of Notting Hill, the first UK location for the US brand will be flanked by independent retailers and established brands. Eggslut Portobello Road have announced British favourites Clarence Court, Bread Ahead and Nude Coffee Roasters as the first UK restaurant’s suppliers. They don’t believe ingredients should take long road trips, so try to keep time on the road and fuel consumption to a minimum. From farmyard, roastery and bakery the combined journey time of these main suppliers delivering to the restaurant in Notting Hill is under six hours in total.
