Banish those hangover blues…
It’s that time of year again – evenings are filled with an abundance of glitter, sparkles, music, friends and prosecco. However it’s also accompanied by the morning after, the dry mouth, the banging head and memories of shots of sambuca which at the time seemed like such a good idea.
But all hail, for we have discovered a smoothie that can help curb that hideous hangover (and trust us, it’s well worth a try!) The ginger works to stave off the nausea, the pineapple is great for helping subside any puffiness and the lime is a perfect source of vitamin C, an antioxidant which is key for collagen production and helps to boost your immune system. The coconut water is an ideal source of electrolytes (which are depleted after a night of drinking) and water and ice will help re-hydrate you.
Ingredients
1 cup pineapple (or about 4 big chunks)
1/2 inch piece of ginger without the skin
juice from 1/2 a lime
200 ml coconut water
100 ml water
Optional: A handful of ice
Method
Simply blend all the ingredients together, drink up, finish your binge watching session on netflix and get ready to head back out again…
