Top jobs with excellent career progression to consider

Debating a career change? Here are four jobs with excellent career progression to get you higher up the ladder…

Career progression

Whether the lockdown time has you considering a new career, or you want something with a better chance of progression, now’s the time to look into it. We’ve put together three careers that have great progression to get you higher up the ladder…

HR Assistant

As a HR assistant you will be handing a whole host of administrative duties, providing support to the HR team and assisting with day to day tasks. You will need people skills, knowledge of policies (though many companies will send you on training) and great organisational skills for this. Most organisations have a HR department and there are many job prospects to get you started. You can work your ranks through from HR Assistant, to Advisor, Manager and eventually HR Director.

Lawyer

There is a fair amount of training involved to become a lawyer, but once that is done, there is great career progression in store. Often you begin as a trainee solicitor, before moving to an associate where you typically work under the supervision of a partner or senior associate. From here you can work up to a senior associate solicitor, partner and perhaps even senior partner. There is a lot of work involved in this career path, but it’s certainly worth it if it’s a path you wish to take and particularly in the big cities there is no shortage of lawyer jobs.

Marketing Executive

Marketing has never been such a prevalent role in our society, particularly with such a focus now on online marketing. Start your career as a Marketing Executive and you can progress all the way to a Marketing manager. There are also many roles in between and you could get the chance to specialise in certain marketing areas as it involves such a broad spectrum of duties. Typical marketing roles include PR, Social Media, Advertising, Web & branding and many more.
