This February, modern Indian restaurant KOKUM welcomes celebrated chef Avinash Shashidhara for an exclusive one-night-only supper club. Taking place on Thursday 26th February at 7pm, the event brings together Chef Avinash Shashidhara and KOKUM’s Co-Founder and Head Chef Sanjay Gour for a collaborative feasting menu inspired by regional Indian cuisine.

Rooted in a shared love of seasonal, produce-led cooking, the chefs will draw on their personal culinary journeys and heritage from Bangalore and Mumbai, offering guests a chance to experience lesser-known Indian flavours through thoughtfully crafted sharing dishes. The evening begins with a vibrant Mango Vodka Cocktail, created in partnership with Desi Daru Vodka. Made using Alphonso mango vodka, celebrated for its natural sweetness and rich fruit flavour, the cocktail sets the tone for a bold and flavour-forward dining experience.
Guests will then enjoy a series of shared starters, beginning with Chakli, a traditional savoury snack, followed by standout dishes such as Coorg Pork, a punchy curry from the Kodava region, layered with black pepper, curry leaves, and vinegar.

The sharing-style mains continue with a fragrant South Indian lamb meatball curry, alongside Malvani Crab Curry, served with flaky breads, seasonal greens, and garlic rice. Dessert finishes the feast on a nostalgic note with hot jalebi and milk ice cream.
Chef Avinash Shashidhara brings over 15 years of experience from some of the UK’s most respected kitchens. Raised in Bangalore, his approach to cooking was shaped by a deep respect for seasonality before working at The Park Hotel, Claude Bosi’s two-Michelin-starred Hibiscus, and spending more than a decade at London institution The River Café. He later founded Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai and gained national recognition as a finalist on BBC’s Great British Menu, alongside appearances on BBC Saturday Kitchen.

KOKUM Co-Founder Chef Sanjay Gour grew up in Mumbai before building his career in London’s Michelin-starred restaurants, including Murano by Angela Hartnett, where he was instrumental in its opening, and Gymkhana, where he served as Head Chef. In 2017, he opened the acclaimed Dastaan, followed by Black Salt Sheen in 2021, and most recently KOKUM in East Dulwich.
This intimate supper club is a one-night celebration of collaboration, creativity, and regional Indian cooking. Tickets are priced at £65 per person and are available to book now.
