Who said you needed to spend a bomb for a nice bedroom? Here are our 5 Ways That You Can Bring Luxury to Your Bedroom on a Budget…
Let’s face it; you’ve flicked through the top interior books and magazines, decided that you have absolutely fallen in love with everything on the ‘Things to Buy’ page and then looked at the price tags – you don’t quite love the items that much.
However, there are plenty of other ways that you can bring luxury to your bedroom without splashing the cash. Here are five ways that you can bring luxury to your bedroom on a budget…
Statement Pieces
The first of our five ways that you can bring luxury to your bedroom on a budget is with a statement piece. Of course, some statement pieces require a fortune to be spent on them, such as a giant chandelier hanging above the bed. However, there are some cheaper alternatives that don’t require you to take a loan out. Adding a luxurious headboard to your bed will scream opulence, as will a humongous canvas hanging above your bed. You don’t need to invest in real art – you could always buy cheaper prints!
Hanging Lights
We previously mentioned that a gold chandelier probably wouldn’t be a cheaper option. However, there are some alternative light-shades that are a tenth of a price. Instagram interior bloggers are always uploading photos of their pendants, which can instantly make any bedroom look modern.
A Comfortable Bed
You can normally tell if a bed is comfortable just by looking at it. There needs to be a comfortable mattress that doesn’t seem to have sunken or changed shape over the years, perhaps a memory-foam mattress that unmoulds as soon as you leave the space. The pillows should always be fully-stuffed, not half-full (or half-empty if you’re that kind of person) and there should be plenty of them on your bed to make it look a little more comfortable and elegant.
Get Rid of Clutter
We’re not going to go all Marie Kondo on you and suggest that you get rid of everything that doesn’t make you happy (yes you really do need to keep the laundry basket!), but we are going to suggest that you start clearing out your clutter. If you’re keeping clothes in your wardrobe that you haven’t been able to fit into for the past 5 years, then stop living in denial and get rid of them, or hand them to a charity shop. The same goes with bedroom furniture, if you have ornaments that are taking up valuable floor or shelf space, then get rid of them and create a clutter-free environment.
Eccentric Curtains
Dark bedrooms never look that satisfying, and it is important that you make the bedroom as light as it can possibly be – a bright room is a happy room! Of course, you will need either blinds and curtains, but if you’re making the purchase for luxury reasons, then the best thing to do would be to invest in some gracious, huge curtains that drape along the floor. These are a staple to any bedroom looking to add a touch of elegance and a real highlight in our five ways that you can bring luxury to your bedroom on a budget.
