P&O Cruises welcomes new guest chefs to Britannia’s Cookery Club

P&O Cruises’s cookery club aboard Britannia is serving up a mezze of new guest chefs this year. The Host of BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Matt Tebbutt; chef and author Sabrina Ghayour; award-winning chocolatier Paul A Young and Michelin-starred chef Robert Thompson will travel with P&O cruises this year serving some of the best foodie experiences to be found on land and sea.

You can enjoy everything from cookery classes and Q&A’s to book signings and hosted dinners where you can tuck into three courses at the chef’s table with paired wines. These interactive masterclasses in Britannia’s state-of-the-art Marco Pierre White Cookery Club offer a real once in a lifetime opportunity with skills you can not only put to use on board, but take home with you too.

Matt Tebbutt

P&O Britannia Cookery Club New ChefsMatt Tebbutt is passionate about Modern British Cooking, making the most of local, seasonal produce and getting back to nature by using wild and foraged foods. He studied at the prestigious Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London, landed a traineeship with Marco Pierre White and had a stint of classic French cooking at Chez Bruce. He ran The Foxhunter in Nantyderry for fourteen years, before focusing on TV work and has presented Market Kitchen on uktv Good Food, filmed eight series of Food Unwrapped on Channel 4 and now presents Saturday Kitchen for the BBC. He also presents Best Bites on BBC2 and recently filmed two series of Save Money: Good Food with Susanna Reid.

Paul A Young

Paul-Young P&O Britannia new chefsPaul A Young is a groundbreaking and inspirational chocolatier who is at the forefront of the British chocolate scene. He initially trained as a chef before foraying into the world of chocolate, where his passion for craft and cutting edge creativity have won him numerous awards including Best Sea Salted Caramel in the World and led to him being ranked amongst the world’s best chocolatiers. Paul has three stores in London and has appeared regularly on our screens, including most recently as an expert on BBC Two’s Made in Great Britain and popular historic series The Sweet Makers. Paul’s first book ‘Adventures with Chocolate’, won the World’s Best Chocolate Book at the Gourmand Cookbook Awards shortly after publication.

Robert Thompson

Robert Thompson P&O Britannia New Chefs Cookery ClubRobert Thompson is an award-winning chef serving up contemporary British cuisine in an open kitchen concept at Thompson’s Restaurant in Newport on the Isle of White. He was the youngest chef in the UK to be awarded a Michelin star and is known for his own style, ideas and talent in the culinary world. Robert likes to keep his menus brief and his cooking respectful of the old classics. He never looks further than the producers outside his front door and continues to be an ambassador for Isle of Wight ingredients.

Sabrina Ghayour

Robert Thompson P&O Britannia New Chefs Cookery ClubSabrina Ghayour is a self-taught chef and multi-award winning, 3-time best selling author who made her name hosting the popular ‘Sabrina’s Kitchen’ supper club in London, specialising in Persian and Middle Eastern flavours. Her debut cook book ‘Persiana – Recipes from the Middle East and beyond’ published in 2014 became a runway success topping the UK’s bestseller lists and receiving the prestigious accolade of Observer Food Monthly’s ‘Best New Cookbook 2014’ and winning ‘Best Cookbook of the Year 2015’ by Food and Travel Magazine. She is a regular on BBC1’s Sunday Kitchen as well as appearing on Sunday Brunch and as a guest judge on shows such as Great British Menu. She also holds her own Persian, Moroccan, Lebanese, Georgian and Middle Eastern Cookery Classes at cookery schools across the UK.
