This Valentine’s Day, the heart of London’s literary quarter transforms into one of the city’s most romantic destinations as The Coral Room, Dalloway Terrace and The Bloomsbury Club Bar invite guests into a world of effortless glamour and old-school charm. From the return of the viral “Globe typewriter poet” to candlelit nightcaps in a subterranean jazz den, The Bloomsbury is the ultimate destination for those looking to celebrate love with a touch of soul and a lot of style.
The Coral Room: The Return of the Typewriter

Following last year’s residency, acclaimed poet Luke Davis returns to weave his magic once more. Known for his viral, spontaneous verses outside the iconic Globe Theatre, Luke brings his vintage typewriter to The Coral Room for one day only on 14th February. Guests are invited to share a fleeting thought or personal memory with Luke, who will craft a bespoke, hand-typed poem in real time. Whether a tribute to a partner, a celebration of friendship, or a literary keepsake, these one-off commissions offer a rare, tangible connection to London’s poetic heritage.

To accompany the experience, the bar team has created an exclusive Valentine’s Day cocktail: a seductive blend of Código 1530 Rosa Tequila, Perrier-Jouët Champagne Brut, and Rose & Berry Shrub. Intense, bitter, sweet and utterly beguiling, the perfect companion as Luke’s typewriter springs to life.

Dalloway Terrace: An Ethereal Escape

Following cocktails and poetry in The Coral Room, guests can venture on to Dalloway Terrace for a dedicated Valentine’s Day menu. This season, London’s most iconic terrace has been reimagined in collaboration with Elizabeth Scarlett, creating a lush, ethereal space draped in cascades of wildflowers, providing one of the capital’s most enchanting backdrops for a candlelit dinner.
The kitchen has designed a sequence of dishes that celebrate seasonal British provenance with a contemporary edge. Starters include Venison Carpaccio with harissa, sumac, pecorino and toasted focaccia, alongside torch-glazed blood orange burrata with walnut dukkah. Mains feature a succulent Belted Galloway rib-eye and Guinness-glazed duck breast, each a study in indulgence.
The evening concludes with a choice of shared desserts: “I Can Buy Myself Flowers”: dark chocolate-dipped strawberries dusted with rose petals, or “Freeze the Moment,” a classic Baked Alaska with vanilla ice cream, sponge and toasted meringue.
For those looking to elevate the occasion further, Dalloway Terrace will also offer a Wine Pairing Journey (£45 per person, 125ml) designed to complement each course.
