Top five weird & Wonderful Wines you didn’t know exist

Wine with a twist…

Everyone loves a glass of wine after a long day, and as much as we all have a favoured white, red or rose that we turn to, sometimes a change is welcome! We haven’t gone quite as far to list beverages such as the snake wine that is available in some parts of the world, but these five wines with a difference, should get your taste buds tingling.

Take a look at these five wines with a distinct difference to your ordinary vino…

1. Hacienda Zorita Vega de la Reina Verdejo

Apart from the amazing name, what’s different about this bottle of white? Well it was voted the best wine in the world! Ergo, it deserves not only the top spot in this list, but a regular spot in the fridge.

Grown in Valdestilla on river banks in Northern central Spain, the grapes for the wine are harvested at night to avoid the hot sunshine and ensure a minimal loss of aromatics in the grape. The wine has a delicate yet intense aroma and is smooth with a pleasant tartness to it.

2. Absolut Tune (Vodka Wine!)

We’re sure you recognise the brand name ‘Absolut’ and understandably relate it to vodka. The genius’s at the Absolut HQ have partnered up with a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to bring us Absolut Tune, a vodka infused wine… or a wine infused vodka? The bottle makes the product look glam too, which is even more of a reason to have it lingering around your home.

Sadly it’s not available in the UK yet, but we think when it makes its way across the pond, it’ll be the answer to our Friday night prayers…and Saturday morning sorrows.

3. Wine of Fire

This has without a doubt, got to be the most entertaining wine in the world. This beverage comes in 5 exciting colours: Glacier, Rose, Sky, Fortune and Vulcan and unlike most wines,  this wine brings you a visual experience. The fruity sparkling wine is designed to look like fire – it’s very Daenerys Targaryen.

When the liquid is unsettled or shaken it creates a mesmerising effect that can’t even be rivalled by a lava lamp. Better yet, when you pour it from the bottle the magic happens in your glass, we find it hard to believe this isn’t bubble bath!

4. Rosso Nobile – Al Cioccolata

The ultimate cure for all bad moods, bad days, nights in, break ups, the list could go on forever, but we are talking about a glass of CHOCOLATE FLAVOURED WINE. We hoped this miracle bottle found on supermarket shelves would be like a wine flavoured chocolate milkshake. It’s not. However it does have a rich flavour of dark berries with a hint of vanilla, and of course a delectable chocolate flavour, creating an exciting taste experience!

5. Witchcraft Wine

We admit that this wine has no particularly odd ingredients, but it’s enticing packaging and superstitious creation process has earned itself a spot on our list.

This would be a great unique wine for a party- perhaps a special Christmas or New year tipple?

Think we missed out a unique wine?
