A bit about Nashville
Nashville is the capital city of the state Tennessee and is known for being the home of country music. It has a population of 1,933,860 (Metropolitan Statistical Area) and is the largest city in the state behind Memphis and the fourth-largest in Southeastern US. The flight time from the UK is around 9 hours ten minutes and there are a host of hotels and places to stay.

Nashville is a hot bed of activity and whether you’re looking to attend some shows, get a taste of culture or just visit some sites, you’re spoilt for choice. Head to the National Museum of African American Music, The Ryman Auditorium or pop into the Honky Tonks of Broadway for hours of fun. The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Frist Art Museum are both unmissable when looking to get a look at the city’s rich history. We recommend you walk around and take in the sights

While you mightn’t think of Nashville as a dedicated foodie destination, when you head there you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice. Tuck into some of the state’s famous hot chicken at the iconic Hattie B’s and be sure to visit Elliston Soda Shop for a traditional diner experience. Arnold’s Country Kitchen, White Limozeen, Pancake Pantry and Loveless Cafe are other popular restaurants to try on your trip.
You can immerse yourself in music
Everywhere you head in Nashville you can get your music fix. Situated southwest of downtown, you can wander Music Row, an area dedicated to the city’s musical heritage and considered the heart of the city’s entertainment industry. Head to the Grand Ole Opry for a weekly American country music stage concert, or if you’re around in June, you can enjoy the CMA festival a four-day music festival centred on country music.
