Review: The Four Sisters Townhouse Restaurant

The Four Sisters Townhouse – One of London’s newest foodie additions

Situated in the streets of the city, you’ll find The Four Sisters Townhouse a quirky little bar which has only been open since June. Nestled within the quirky side streets of London, this is somewhere you won’t want to miss out on!

When you walk into the Four Sisters Townhouse you are greeted first of all by the warm and genuine staff, then secondly by the almost Victorian yet still trendy decor of the bar. If you have ever seen the BBC series Dickensian, this bar resembles the programmes period feel well!

The bar has two levels, the upper part being called ‘the study’ where you can devour in their long list of weekly changing cocktails, before proceeding down to the lower section. This is where the main bar is situated and a select few tables and seating including bar stalls is available. It’s the little touches that count. This bar certainly covers them all by even having bag hooks at the bar area, so when you’re seated you can hang up your bag and coats without them being left draped over the floor.

Now let’s talk about the cocktails. The Four Sisters Townhouse offers a weekly changing cocktail menu offering something slightly different to your average bar. All the cocktails are individually named and not ones you’d probably recognise. We started with a cocktail called the ‘Millionaire’ it was the perfect balance of something fruity and sweet yet still tasting like a proper cocktail.

As well as an extensive cocktail menu the Four Sisters offer a food menu offering light bites, meals and sharing boards. We went for the sharing board which it is fair to say we really enjoyed. The board consisted of bread, two generous slabs of cheese, three or so different meats such as salami and chorizo, also including a large helping of pâté and other bits to pick at. Even though it wasn’t a full on meal it was more than enough to leave us feeling satisfied. It also paired perfectly with our cocktails and complimented them well.

For our next cocktails we asked the staff to surprise us. They brought us two different cocktails one which was a stronger more gingery tasting tipple, which is inspired by having something ‘on the rocks’ and another which was more of a sour rather than sweet tasting cocktail. They were both delicious and finished off our evening perfectly.

They were happy to recommend cocktails to us and advise us on the various types of alcohol they used in them. Their friendly manner really completed the evening and made it something more than special. The way the staff treated you made you feel more than welcome, we even saw some of the staff dancing and laughing with other guests at the bar.

Although this is one of London’s new additions, the Four Sisters doesn’t scrimp on the service you get. Whether you’re looking for a bite to eat or even just to sample some of their signature cocktails it’s not somewhere to be missed!
