Start your holiday the right way with NO1 lounges…

When it comes to holidaying, the real experience, as we all know, starts at the airport. But let’s face it, once you’ve been away a time or two you know the shops inside out and there’s only so many cups of teas you can drink and times you can look around WHSmith before feeling bored out of your mind. This is where Airport lounges come in. Often overlooked or thought of as very expensive, Airport lounges can entirely transform your experience – and often not much more expensive than a Wetherspoons breakfast! We recently headed to the Gatwick No1 lounges and found our airport experience truly transformed…

We headed to the No1 lounge in the South terminal of Gatwick Airport (there are also three more No1 lounges in the North Terminal.) It is tucked away on the second floor down a small corridor and you are instantly transported from the general airport vibe to utter airport luxury. Elegant décor sweeps through to the lounge and clubrooms (clubrooms offer an even more premium experience). We are led in by a polite and attentive member of staff and seated in a plush table near the window where you can watch the planes landing and taking off.

All food and drink is included in this lounge (including selected alcoholic beverages) and as it was a morning flight we both ordered the full English accompanied by a glass of prosecco – there’s nothing like starting your vacation in style! The food was brought over within about fifteen minutes and as far as a full English breakfast’s go it was delicious! The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing, always on hand to help without hovering over your shoulder. After eating you’re welcome to relax in the lounge until your flight (though if you want to head out and do a bit of shopping, you’re not guaranteed your seat when you get back so it’s best to get this done before!) There are an abundance of top magazines and newspapers to read and it’s a beautiful and relaxing space to chill before your flight. It really adds to the holiday experience, making the airport just as exciting as the trip itself, taking away any stress or boredom and adding a touch of glamour and luxury.

An added extra is that with your No1 lounge reservation you also get access to premium security, skipping the queues and breezing through – avoiding any delays here and again, taking away any added stresses.

You can book your No1 lounge reservation online here for just £30 per adult when booked online and £12 per child. (Prices are higher when booked on the day.)
