We headed to the Clubrooms in the South terminal of Gatwick Airport. It is tucked away on the second floor down a small corridor and you are instantly transported from the general airport vibe to a real feeling of luxury. We were led in by a polite and attentive member of staff and seated in a plush table near the window where you can watch the planes landing and taking off.
All food and drink is included in this clubroom (including selected alcoholic beverages) and as it was a morning flight we both ordered the full English accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine – there’s nothing like starting your vacation in style! The food was brought over within about fifteen minutes and as far as a full English breakfast’s go it was delicious! The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing, always on hand to help without hovering over your shoulder. After eating you’re welcome to relax in the Clubroom until your flight (though if you want to head out and do a bit of shopping, you’re not guaranteed your seat when you get back so it’s best to get this done before!) There are magazines and newspapers to read and it’s a beautiful and relaxing space to chill or get work done before you take off. It really adds to the holiday experience, making the airport just as exciting as the trip itself, taking away any stress or boredom and adding a touch of glamour and luxury.
