First Look: The Ivy Asia Chelsea launches in King’s Road

The Ivy Asia Chelsea has launched, bringing its second instalment of the concept to London…

Last night saw the long-awaited opening of the Ivy Asia Chelsea, the second instalment of The Ivy Asia concept in London. The restaurant is located in the prestigious King’s Road and launched to a star-studded fanfare complete with dancers, drums, sushi and champagne. The space is sophisticated, sleek and effortlessly cool with their synonymous, luminous green onyx flooring and striking artworks adorning the walls. Luxurious Asian fabrics and carefully collected antiques are peppered throughout, while dim lighting exudes an understated elegance.

The Ivy Asia Chelsea restaurant and bar is set to be open seven days a week offering expertly cooked dishes from breakfast and weekend brunches through to lunch and dinner. As with the other Ivy Asia branch, there will be an array of mouthwatering theatrical drinks on offer as well as a host of tantalizing dishes that are guaranteed to impress. Dine in the main restaurant or up at the dedicated sushi bar that seats four guests and also has a stunning and majestic tree decor designed by Tony Marklew

Head Chef Paolo Bianchi, Executive Chef Simon Gregory and Sushi Chef Shie Noh will oversee the kitchen imbuing the menu with their artistic flair and unrelenting talent. Dishes will take inspiration from cuisines all around the continent of Asia and will feature a host of favourites from sister restaurant The Ivy Asia, St Pauls as well as dishes exclusively created for the Ivy Asia Chelsea.

Feast on salmon sashimi with spiced yuzu and avocado salsa, roasted half aromatic crispy duck, and Hunan-spiced pork ribs with sesame and coriander. Also available will be platters including the Ming Dynasty, adorned with a fresh selection of sashimi, tuna nigiri and oscietra caviar, wagyu beef tempura with enoki mushroom, and gold and black truffle sauce, and The Bonzai, accompanied by assorted vegetable and shiso tempura, steamed yasai dumplings with spiced avocado, cucumber takuan avocado with asparagus maki roll, and truffled teriyaki with shitake and eryngii mushrooms. 

Accompanying the menu will be a delicious selection of cocktails, sakes, wines, Champagnes and Jing speciality Asian teas. Cocktails will transport guests with a series of exciting flavours and colourful garnishes, with highlights including the Beijing Sling with Wyborowa vodka, Umeshi plum sake, jasmine, vanilla, lime, apple juice and plum bitters, and the Fair Dragon, a delicious blend of Fair Asian Kumquat Liqueur, Midori, Yuzu juice and egg white.
