I love travel. It’s my favourite thing to do in the world. Yet it unfortunately comes hand in hand with the thing I like least in the world – flying. While I don’t let it stop me from going away, I find the entire experience terrifying and always seem to question the mind-boggling physics that are keeping me in the air, just as I’m cruising 80,000 feet in the sky and there’s really nothing I can do about it. While teleportation is unfortunately not an option, it does make me feel better if I’m flying on an airline I trust and that enables me to feel comfortable enough to take my mind off my fear. JetBlue is a major United States low-cost airline yet it doesn’t compromise on comfort, making the entire experience a lot more enjoyable. In this article we take a look at JetBlue and just why it should be your choice of airline going forward, in particularly when you visit the USA.
A bit about JetBlue
JetBlue first came to be in the year 2000 and since then has worked to provide affordable air travel alongside stellar service. It provides routes across the UK, US, Caribbean, Latin America and Canada with new destinations consistently being added to its roster. Their five main values are safety, caring, integrity, passion and fun and this is something they strive to achieve year on year. The most recent award JetBlue has won is the Best Economy Class across all US airlines in the 2023 TPG Awards, a sign of their commitment to their customers.
Why Fly with JetBlue?
There are many reasons to fly with JetBlue. We’ve put together just a few below.
Quality without Compromise
Too often we can have a great airline experience but have to pay an arm and leg, or get a bargain but can’t move our arms or legs due to lack of space. With JetBlue you can enjoy the price points of low-cost travel but enjoy a range of amenities such as in-flight entertainment, Wifi, extra leg room and so much more. They’re the only U.S. airline with seatback screens at every seat, bringing entertainment to new heights with live TV, movies, music and unique content all for free.
Their Customer Service
JetBlue pride themselves on their crew members and have a mission to “inspire humanity.” Whether you’re flying for work or pleasure, each interaction you’ll have with their team will be friendly and make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Whether you have a question, need help with something or just want a chat, they’re more than happy to assist.
The Food
While airline food doesn’t always have the best reputation, JetBlue show just what culinary achievements can be done high in the air. All JetBlue flights feature free, brand-name snacks and drinks, including freshly brewed Dunkin’ coffee. You can feast on EatUp® boxes, as well as fresh fare from their EatUp® Café menu on select flights over 3.5 hours.
If you’re travelling transatlantic, the core JetBlue experience lets you build your own farm-to-tray-table, vegetable-forward main meal from NYC’s Dig, plus your choice of a light bite pre-arrival. All travelers (21+) can also enjoy free beer, wine and alcoholic drinks. If you upgrade to their Mint experience, you can enjoy a curated small plates menu as well as an open bar complete with an artisan wine list and cocktails shaken on board.
Each meal is prepared with the discerning traveller in mind and a range of dietary requirements are catered for. It’s always a good idea to get in touch prior to your trip to make them aware of any allergies or particular requests.
Their Premium Experience
When looking to upgrade your flight, JetBlue’s Mint experience does that and so much more. Available on select coast-to-coast, Caribbean and Latin America routes, plus all transatlantic flights, upgrade for a special occassion or just if you want to fly in supreme comfort. Each Mint Suite™ offers direct aisle access, a sliding door for privacy, a fully lie-flat seat built with Tuft & Needle’s T&N Adaptive® Foam cushions, a memory foam pillow and a customizable blanket.
You can watch movies and shows on their large 17″ TV, charge your devices and create the ideal relaxing space with their customisable lighting. Store your shoes, laptop and more in the dedicated storage areas to maximise your room and indulge in delicious dining. Having partnered with Delicious Hospitality Group to bring Manhattan hotspots Pasquale Jones, Charlie Bird and Legacy Records to Mint you can feast on a choice small plates for both your main and pre-arrival meals, dessert and a custom playlist to go with your meal.
There’s plenty of space to relax
The worst thing about flying tends to be the leg room. There’s no space to stretch out those cramped legs without feeling like you’re kneeing the poor soul infront in the back every time you try. It’s also a battle for room to put your bag on the floor, with no space for this and your feet, but you don’t want to be popping up to the over-head locker everytime you need something. Not with JetBlue. Well known for its dedicated to passenger comfort, JetBlue is a standout choice for legroom, with standard economy class having 38 inches of leg room with a typical seat pitch of 32-33 inches. This is a lot more generous than other airlines and is particularly appreciated when heading long haul!
So, while flying might not be the top of my favourite things to do, travelling with an airline such as JetBlue certainly helps. With such a fantastic safety rating, delicious food, unrivalled comfort and exceptional staff it’s a no brainer. Find out more and book your JetBlue flight here!
