Here are five top spots where you can really appreciate the city views.
Bellver Castle
The 14th century Bellver Castle is Spain’s only round castle and offers 360-degree views across the West of Palma. Bell Ver directly translates to Nice View in Catalan, so it is no surprise this spot is perfect to take in the surrounding skylines. The Catalan Gothic masterpiece was built on a commanding hilltop position and has a long and complex history, serving as both a royal summer residence and a prison. The castle is perfectly preserved and is complete with a moat and drawbridge, three defence towers and a round central courtyard – the Pario de Armas. The picture-perfect traditional castle costs just €4 to access, with entry also including a museum which hosts a range of interesting exhibitions alongside dedicated rooms telling the story of the site.

During the day, AlmaQ is the perfect spot for relaxation, to bask in the warm sun and soak in the unparalleled views. Towards the evening, the bar transforms into a lively meeting place for visitors and locals alike to appreciate the sunset in style.
The Terraces of Palma Cathedral
Palma Cathedral is the monumental centrepiece of the city and offers exceptional views of the surrounding Casco Antiguo and coast. The gothic Cathedral, known as La Seu, stands at 44 metres tall, making it one of Europe’s tallest gothic structures, which towers above the surrounding buildings to give visitors a gorgeous bird’s-eye view of the entire city. The terraces, between the two flying buttresses of the cathedral, cost €25 to access and allow for a panoramic view of the spectacular main rose window, the bell tower and the city’s skyline. Palma Cathedral also organise sunset tours for €30 for holidaymakers to view the city in an entirely new light, at golden hour.
De Tokia a Lima at Can Alomar Hotel
The intimate five-star Can Alomar Hotel is situated in the centre of Palma on the city’s famous boulevard, and most important shipping street, the Paseo del Borne. The renowned De Tokio a Lima restaurant sits atop the hotel at the top of a winding 19th-century chequerboard staircase, making it the perfect spot to relax after shopping. The dreamy terrace is an oasis above the bustling boulevard, and the perfect setting for chic drinks or alfresco dining. The restaurants’ cosy and pleasant atmosphere offers impeccable and friendly service, with world class food inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, with Japanese and Peruvian twists.
