Amazing Architecture
One of the reasons to visit Kuala Lumpur is the architecture. When you picture Kuala Lumpur, the city skyline is probably one of the first images that spring to mind. Amongst the skyscrapers, one sight that immediately draws the eye is the KL Tower. The KL Tower is the seventh tallest telecommunications tower in the world, standing at an impressive 421 metres. If you like your dinner with a view, then you won’t want to miss out on enjoying a meal while you are at the KL Tower. The Atmosphere 360 restaurant offers some fantastic views; in fact, this revolving restaurant is located 282 metres above the city.
Another unmissable piece of architecture is the Petronas Twin Towers. These twin towers are the tallest in the world, and you can even experience the view they offer for yourself during your visit. If you have a head for heights, you can visit the Sky Bridge, which is a walkway above the city, which connects the two towers.
Of course, not all of Kuala Lumpur’s most impressive architecture is new. The Batu Caves are an example of this. This partly natural and partly manmade Hindu cave temple is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. You will need to make your way up the 400ft ascent to visit the cave temple itself. A highlight of a trip to the Batu Caves is seeing the 140ft, gold-painted statue of Lord Murugan, which towers over the foot of the steps.
Impressive Green Spaces
One of the many things that set Kuala Lumpur apart from other cities is that it has its own piece of rainforest. The KL Forest Eco Park can be found in the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve and offers a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy being close to nature. The Eco Park features a canopy walk across hanging bridges, and if you are lucky, you may spot some of the wildlife that lives here.
The Perdana Botanical Garden is another green oasis in the city and one of many great reasons to visit Kuala Lumpur. Spanning an incredible 220 acres, this is a garden that offers plenty of opportunities to spend some time away from the busyness of the city and relax. As you explore the Botanical Gardens, you will find a range of sculptures dotted around, which add some extra interest to this tranquil spot.
Multicultural City
Kuala Lumpur is a multicultural city, and its main residents are Malay, Indian, and Chinese. The variety of groups that live here mean that there is also a vibrant range of cultures reflected in both the wide choice of food that is available here, as well as the mix of different places of worship. Beautiful mosques, along with Hindu and Buddhist temples, are all found in the city, to reflect the range of religions practised by the city’s residents.
Warm Weather

The average temperature in Kuala Lumpur is 27.1°C, and this doesn’t vary much during the year, the hottest month is typically April, when temperatures average 27.7°C.
The city’s tropical climate does mean that rainfall is heavy in the city, so this is something to be aware of on your trip – don’t forget your raincoat!
Shoppers Paradise

Here you will find a wide choice of shops catering for a range of budgets. The Central Market is a great place to browse for a selection of artwork. The Central Market can’t be missed as it is housed in a distinctive pale blue Art Deco building.

This unique experience combines an indoor theme park with a shopping mall, making it ideal if you are travelling with kids. In fact, the Berjaya Times Square is the largest indoor theme park in Malaysia, so it is worth checking out if you are looking for something to do with the kids.
Take a stroll along the Malaysia Heritage Walk, aka the Kasturi Walk, to soak up the atmosphere as street traders sell their wares. You will also find a great selection of street food available to buy along the Malaysia Heritage Walk.
Bukit Bintang is probably the most famous shopping area in Kuala Lumpur. You will find a whole host of shopping malls here, from pocket-friendly outlets, through to flagship designer stores, this is a shopping area that has something for everyone.
