Tips On How To Feel Good At Any Age

We all deserve to feel good, whether we’re eight, or eighty. Yet there are some basic steps we can take that help us feel good about ourselves no matter what our age. This article is going to look at self-care and how it can help us feel good across our whole lifetime.

Good At Any Age

Dress Up And Show Up

As we get older, we might not be happy with the way we look, and we might even stop taking care of ourselves. But dressing up and showing up is a vital part of wellbeing. In fact, during the pandemic, dressing up every day made many people feel better about their situation. Selfridges have coined the term ‘dopamine dressing’, and use it to describe the positive feeling you get when you put on the clothes you love. If there is a part of your body you don’t like, like your lashes, try mascara for older women. It can help give the illusion of more lashes and help you feel better about yourself at the same time.

Get Active

Keeping active can be good for our skin, our joints, and our health. No matter what your age or fitness level, getting active can do wonders for our wellbeing. If you do have pre-existing conditions, then gentle exercises like yoga or walking can be extremely beneficial. As a basis, half an hour of exercise at least three days a week will help you feel good. Exercise helps release endorphins, a feel good hormone, that also boosts your wellbeing.

Prioritize Your Health

Your health and wellbeing matters. We all have the tendency to put off that doctor, or dentist appointment. But as we get older, it’s more important than ever before to attend regular checkups and maintain our health for as long as possible. Whether you’re seven or seventy, prioritizing your health is essential for feeling good. Physical and mental health are just as important, so book an appointment with a healthcare professional if you are concerned. It’s also a good idea to dig into your family’s health, so you can take action to reduce the risk of particular conditions into older age.

Spend Time Outdoors

Spending time outdoors can boost your immunity levels and overall health. In fact, trees are actually good for you. They absorb pollutants from the air, release phytoncides which help lower blood pressure, and of course release oxygen, which is essential for humanity’s survival. Spend as much time outdoors as possible, but wear suncream to protect yourself from UV light. Overexposure to the sun’s rays can age your skin if you don’t wear sunscreen.

Feel Good At All Ages

You can feel good, no matter what your age. Dressing up, keeping active and taking care of your health can have a huge impact on your wellbeing. Whether you’re nine or ninety, practising self-care and looking after yourself can add years to your life and improve the quality of it too. Take these tips and remember, you deserve to feel good about yourself.
