The current lockdown means many of us are having more time at home than we’re used to. Here are our five ways to keep yourself amused at home…
The current lockdown has meant a lot of changes for most people, spending the majority of our days inside. Once the novelty has worn off it can be difficult to know how to keep amused and whether you are in lockdown with your other half, just yourself or your family, you’re going to want to find new things to do. Here are our five ways to keep yourself amused at home…
Do daily exercise
With the gyms closed and no daily commute, it can mean your exercise rates and steps are severely lacking. In turn you can feel lethargic, sluggish and demotivated, which is why it’s important you keep your exercise up. There are plenty of ways to do this, from Joe Wickes daily PE classes, to online cardio classes, free weights and yoga.
Take up a creative hobby
Whether you’ve always fancied yourself as the new Picasso or wanted to write a book, time is now on your side. Thanks to the many hours available at home, it’s the best time to take up a new creative hobby. It will make the time pass quickly and you will have something to show when this is all over too!
Find a new computer game
Next in our ways to keep yourself amused at home is to find a new game. Avoid fighting over the TV remote and amuse yourself with a new computer game during the lockdown. There’s a massive push behind Sims 4 at the moment if you want a real throwback, or if you are missing your weekly bingo jaunt, you could always play online bingo (responsibly.) There are many other games you can play on the computer, just have a look online and see what you can find!
Dig out old board games
Lockdown is also family time and there is no better thing to do than dig out some of the old board games you have gathering dust in the cupboard. There’s no better way to pass the time than with some good old Monopoly related disputes and competitiveness!
Recreate a restaurant date night
Our final idea in our ways to keep yourself amused at home is to bring what you miss from the outside world, in. If you’re stuck in with your other half and missing going to a fancy restaurant, why not recreate the experience? Get glammed up, whip out a fancy table cloth and some scented candles and crack open a bottle of wine. Serve up a three course meal and make a whole evening of it.
